I have no issue with a safety net for the truly needy

No offense, but you should have an issue with it.

The Constitution does not have a provision for government charity. The whole concept of government charity is maybe 100 years old. It has gone disastrously wrong.

The safety net is why we have a deficit.
Minimum wage is why we have unemployment.
Food stamps are why some people decide not to work.

I have a big issue with a safety net for the truly needy.
Churches?
Benevolent societies?
Neighbors?
These are the traditional alternatives for when the truly needy need help. The government has killed them, because the government is manufacturing slaves.

The safety net is a BAD thing.
