Nicki Minaj, the first female solo artist to have seven singles on the Billboard Hot 100 list at the same time, announced today the first set of dates for her Pink Friday concert tour.
The 29-year-old Trinidad-born rapper, who now makes New York City her home, is perhaps best known for the bump and grind she performed this past February while sharing the stage with Madonna during the Super Bowl half time show.
She was no less provocative last month in an appearance on ABCs Nightline when she said that she contemplated killing her father when she was younger.
In a follow up interview, published in Great Britains Guardian newspaper, explained why she didnt follow through with her murderous thoughts: God saved her and her family.
Her father had been a drug addict, Minaj recalled. He was abusive toward her mother, threatening violence, she said, whenever he would have a real bad outburst.
Minajs dad enrolled in rehab. He and her mother started going to church a lot, she said, and he got saved and started changing his life. Her parents have enjoyed a happy married life ever since. And Minaj attributes that to God, whom she calls her hero.
Well, its uplifting to read the rap stars testimony about her parents. The problem is, while she is praising God for His divine intervention in their once-troubled lives, she continues to raise hell in her own life.
Indeed, Minaj sees nothing ungodly about releasing music like her latest album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which dropped in March that, as the Guardian put it, out-filths the boys.
She sees nothing perverse about dressing up (or should I say down?) like the Stupid Hoe she raps about on her latest album, while wearing a Chinese tattoo on her left arm that reads shangdi yu ni chang zai , which means God is always with you.
Nicki Minaj represents that shes a Christian. But theres nothing Christ-like in how shes chosen to use the talents with which she has been blessed.
They never really explain what GOD they are talking about, do they?
Christian my big toe.
Any provocative pics of her postable?
I am sure that Nicki Whats-her-name appreciates all of this extra publicity.
“shes chosen to use the talents with which she has been blessed”
huh?
Wth?
She has musical talent, like Lady Gaga, the late Amy Winehouse and others. But she has chosen not to use it for the glory of God.
“She has musical talent, like Lady Gaga, the late Amy Winehouse and others.”
Agreed
(I’d also rather listen to someone dragging their fingernails across a blackboard than the sounds any of the above three mentioned “artists” have made.)
Even L’il Wayne claims he is a Christian.
It’s what I’ve said all along.
If you can’t tell the difference between the secular music and the Christian music, THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE. You can put Christian in front of “Punk” and “Thrash” and “Speed Metal” and “Grunge” and it doesn’t automatically make it Christian and just totally fine to listen to. Just the same as you can put “Christian” in front of “Porn” and “Rape” and “Stealing” makes those things “Christian” and totally fine and okay to be involved with.
Hard faces. Cursing. Out-cursing males. Dressing like a whore. Sleazy slutty lyrics and suggestive dancing and skimpy outfits you’d expect to find at any strip club.
I have little doubt God did help her dad and was in her parents’ lives. But if she is Christian, she has had virtually no proper biblical preaching/instruction get to her heart, and is not an in-depth Christian - at best. At worst, well, she is just a secularist using a veneer of Christianity for her own benefit.
Here is a link to one of this person’s latest released songs, done in collaboration with some others who fancy themselves musical artists. The song is called “Take it to the head”...Christian it ain’t.

Ph, my! I would like to see her gyrate! LOL.
Oh, my! I would like to see her gyrate! LOL. But, she is not a classical Christian, I would say.
