I believe this Dowd was the chief strategist for the Bush campaign in 2004. Maybe he is responsible for Bush's not defending himself against the incessant attacks of the 'rat hate machine. Apparently he turned against Bush himself, later, when his kid was in line for deployment to Iraq. He was also a fan of Cindy Sheehan.
