ive seen enough of these threads...

Let me pose this question... What military person, what ever rank, would do this? Would follow an order such as this? with all the stories about court martial for seemingly less, why would any sane service man give into an order such as this??????? i think it irresponsible of you, and the others who post this shit. If obama downed a drone and gave it to an enemy, then he did this with miltary consent. Which creates a whole nother picture.

Get the facts... somebody knows what happened, hammer for an answer. but simple saying obama gave away our most top secret weapon again, is irresponsible.

What if it went down for any number of reasons and the self destruct malfunctioned?? what if it was as simple as that, and our military is shamed for what your thread boasts?? i dont know... a lot of you here at free republic are drunk on self importance, another large group think they are the smartest guys in the room. posting these assumptions make you look slightly half cocked....

It would be funny if the whole thing was to reinfect computers.

Wouldn't it though? Too bad that we don't have a pro-American president who would intentionally plant a trojan horse in Iran.

The reports I got is that Iran hacked into the control program of the Drone and landed it on one of their airfields. They may have sent phantom information to make our remote control operator think the Drone was in the air and still flying—just not responding.

"Reports"? Are you referring to things you've read online, or some other source?

There’s an alternate explanation. It’s at least possible that the drone was landed in Iran as a part of a dark operation where it’s being used to deliver Trojan Horse viruses to the Iranian defense system. That’s at least minimally plausible in light of the Stuxnet virus and how it may have been developed by the U.S. and Israel. If that explanation is true it would be to our advantage to have everybody thinking the drone’s delivery was an intentional giveaway of vital iinformation. I’m not arguing this is the explanation, just that we need to wait to see what it really is. Remember, in WWII lots of black things, like Ultra, happened to our advantage that we never learned about until recently.

Why are you so upset about this post? You're knocking the author in the teeth, but I notice you didn't come up with a plausible counter theory yourself.

I don't know what the answer to your question is, but all the same, our drone is sitting on the ground in Iran, intact, and our military didn't activate a self-destruct mechanism, nor did they get in there and destroy it. Why? Isn't that our military's job in cases like this?

Do you have a plausible answer for that? No? Why not?

The military is under Obama's command. Since he's been in command, there have been several incidents involving our military that are inexplicable under ordinary circumstances. I think this writer's thoughts are as plausible as anything else I've read.

I've seen others mention that theory. I'd think that it was the most likely explanation, were it not for the fact that we've got a CIC who hates this country with a passion, and who is doing whatever he can to enable the Islamofascists.

Heck, 20% of the US population are "drones". I'd be happy to send all of them to Iran. We'll pay the shipping and handling. With pleasure.

You’ve got me in a quandary because I have the same opinion of the Illegal you do. Yet, there is the Stuxnet thing. All of this leaves me mightly scratching my head.

The Wall Street Journal and CNN

Thanks for the links. I hadn't seen those articles.

Still, I find it hard to believe that Iran has the capability to hack our UAV's guidance control systems and land one without a scratch. They'd also have to know how to over-ride the self-destruct commands, too.

Seems a huge stretch, to me.

Same here, but I just refer to FDR's famous quote, "There are no accidents or coincidences in politics."

When there's this much high strangeness with an international incident, we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg. The real truth is probably more awful than most people would imagine, or accept.

Yeah, that's why scientists have been bouncing laser beams off a reflective target which was left on the moon by the Apollo astronauts, for the last 40 years. < /smirk >

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that a whole lot of 'things' were buried and frozen in place, when he was elected.

The real players have always known who this guy is.

Are you trying to state that, the US, can field the globes top scientific and mechanical military UAV’s and Not have the ability to cook it, should it go rogue???

Seriously, what planet are you on... orrrrrr

What planet would the US Military be on fielding a super high Tech UAV without a Destruct code, oh I don’t know, like a missile system.....

So, back to you... prove they do not, or bugger off for being just a “I know it all” by just saying it is so...
