"From 300 per year during the 1970′s, Special Weapons Assault Team raids have exploded to more than 50,000 per year over the past decade." Thats because the SWAT was originally designed for extreme hostage situations etc. Now they turn out to serve search warrants for petty drug stuff and other things that would normally fall in the domain of the local street cops. Remember when a couple of black and whites would pull up and 3-4 uniforms would knock on the door, serve an arrest warrant or a search warrant. Somebody went out to the patrol car in cuffs and off they went as pretty as you please. Most people go peaceably. The DHS has now established some 50 fusion centers around the country and they are busy federalizing the local police forces and state patrols. IMHO the DHS is the single most dangerous agency that has ever been created and until or unless we get rid of it or cut it down significantly it will continue to march forward in its quest to finish building a complete police state. We need to be asking all of our prospective presidential candidates exactly what they plan to do about this agency if elected. My guess is not much. The GOP likes power as much as the Dems do.

We are frogs in hot water, slowly being boiled to death, WITHOUT REALIZING OR REACTING.
Our tipping point was passage of the blatantly unconstitutional DeathCare bill. Yet we still remain in the hot water, oblivious to our surroundings.
