The problem with your logic is everyday people will have to vote willingly to suffer four more years of Obama's economic misery because they now know he is powerless to fix it.
Reagan beat Carter like a drum in 1980 because people don't like to suffer their own economic misery.
Wallet first. Party second.

Of course the opposite is also true. There are people who will go out of their way to vote against 0bama. His voters are demoralized and many of them won’t vote at all.

Correct, but they are in the electorally Dem states anyway. It doesn't matter if the Republican loses Massachusetts 58-42 or 75-25.
I work in Madison, WI, and I get to see first-hand the effects of the deranged lefties on the politically indifferent. They ultimately provided Walker with more strength to promote a viable budget and economic plan.
