but we have to see the forest for the trees...
its not the great big things that are going to happen...IMO its the little things already slipping by...
the loss of freedom of speech and religion.....most people are afraid to be completely honest even on an internet blog....we're afraid to protest gay marriage...afraid to put our names on petitions....they have already silenced us....
taxes and fees and restrictions will be our great undoing, over time...
a fee here...a fee there...a limitation here or there....pretty soon property taxes could be based on INCOME and not the property....they'll justify it all by saying its only "fair"....
food will be the least of our worries folks.....
they have our names...they have our addresses....if they wanted, they could drum up any number of charges in order to invade our homes....child porn, or drugs...or too many guns...or hoarding gold...
when the start making up the rules as they go....THAT is when we're goners....
and to think that most people under age 40 or 50 don't even KNOW what the rule of law means,,,,don't know what it means to have a Bill of Rights...
For a realistic and frightening idea of what that would (will?) be like consider the Matthew Bracken books.I've finished the first two and I can tell you they are real page turners!

Yesterday we watched a documentary about the ELF eco-terrorist group, and as I watched how they were treated by law enforcement (blasted in the face w/ pepper spray AFTER being handcuffed, for example), I told my husband, “Someday that’s how Tea Partiers/Conservatives/Christians/etc. will be treated.” I do fear our nation’s law enforcement.
