The Catera was an Opel Senator , a GREAT car ,, equal to the MBZ C class ,, especially the last 2 years it was imported when the sport package was standard.
When they came out, I was at the dealer getting my DeVille worked on. I took it on a test drive out of curiosity. I recall it was plasticy inside and under performed. Of course I was driving a Northstar which is hard to beat and they may not have had the sport package on the early ones. Beyond that I thought it was ugly. At least the C class had nice lines and was a solid little car.
