Now the President is outraged because the GOP House leadership called his bluff and ended discussions with him because they deemed him an obstruction to any real solution to the debt crisis.
He has been deemed a lame duck president. And he is angry now because he is being treated as such.
His foreign policy strategy has been described as leading from behind. Well, thats his domestic policy strategy as well. Why should he be surprised that hes been left behind in the negotiations when hes been leading from behind on this debt crisis?
Thank you, GOP House leaders. Please dont get wobbly on us now.
2012 cant come soon enough.

See post 219.
And what are you going to do if she decides to not run?
Still stuck in your little queer/homo groove I see. Well, it’s about what we expect from you by now. No essence, just your little queer-obsessed mind doing what it does.

Interesting use of “Saint” in EveningStar’s posting. Might want to check on the use of this word in the New Testament...it's not nearly as derogatory as you wanted it to be....

As I have said before, I do not believe that Palin() had fully decided to quit or stay when she gave her speech. Here's why...
In the first part she stated that she was not going to seek re-election.
In the second she stated that she was quitting as if it were an after thought.
Now, if it were her intention to quit then why even bother to make the 'I'm not seeking re-election' statement?
Nope, Trademark (aka Godot) ad-libbed the I quit part.

Palin’s Ghost Writer is named Lynn Vincent. She has written all of Palin’s books for her.
I agree with your observation on this writing also. Palin supposedly writes at an 8th grade level and this writing is the result of a proffessional writer. Not Palin.
http://www.newsweek.com/2011/04/17/palin-s-ghost.html
Also, a quote from the article; [”Vincent, 48, is tightlipped about working with the former Alaska governor, but she does talk about the criticism that came with the job. Muzzled by a nondisclosure agreement with Palin, Vincent had to stay mum while angry Dems rifled through her past for signs of zealotry.”]

From your link...
Lame Duck - Definition #1: One that is weak or that falls behind in ability or achievement;...
Her usage of the phrase "lame duck" fits like a glove.
This is the definition of "lame duck" that applies to American politics: 2 : an elected official or group continuing to hold political office during the period between the election and the inauguration of a successor
What?
Read the full context of what she said...
PALIN:Now the President is outraged because the GOP House leadership called his bluff and ended discussions with him because they deemed him an obstruction to any real solution to the debt crisis.
Now read the full context of what she said, this time inserting definition #1, from your link...
PALIN:Now the President is outraged because the GOP House leadership called his bluff and ended discussions with him because they deemed him an obstruction to any real solution to the debt crisis. He has been deemed a president that is weak or that falls behind in ability or achievement. And he is angry now because he is being treated as such. His foreign policy strategy has been described as leading from behind. Well, thats his domestic policy strategy as well. Why should he be surprised that hes been left behind in the negotiations when hes been leading from behind on this debt crisis?
To begin with, to say that definition #1 should not be used to describe politicians is an absurd statement.
Continuing on, Palin described Obama as being left behind in the negotiations. Palin described Obama as somebody who is "leading from behind". Those ideas are synonymous with definition #1 of the term Lame Duck which describes somebody "who falls behind in ability". Palin used the term Lame Duck correctly.
Yet you insist that she got it wrong.
LOL!
Sorry to say, you are beyond reason.
To: EveningStar; nopardons; AHerald; RitaOK
In fact, The Trademark herself gave this as her reason for quitting. EveningStar,
What you give as evidence of "fact" is instead false context.
Palin did not say she was resigning because she was a lame duck. Palin said she was resigning because of the law suites and she mentioned her lame duck status as an after thought.
Here is the full context of Palin's remarks concerning her resignation...
Palin describes the lawsuit problem.
PALIN:Political operatives descended on Alaska last August, digging for dirt. The ethics law I championed became their weapon of choice. Over the past nine months I've been accused of all sorts of frivolous ethics violations such as holding a fish in a photograph, wearing a jacket with a logo on it, and answering reporters questions. Every one all 15 of the ethics complaints have been dismissed. Weve won! But it hasn't been cheap - the State has wasted THOUSANDS of hours of YOUR time and shelled out some two million of YOUR dollars to respond to opposition research thats money NOT going to fund teachers or troopers or safer roads. And this political absurdity, the politics of personal destruction
Todd and I are looking at more than half a million dollars in legal bills in order to set the record straight. And what about the people who offer up these silly accusations? It doesnt cost them a dime so theyre not going to stop draining public resources spending other peoples money in their game. Its pretty insane my staff and I spend most of our day dealing with THIS instead of progressing our state now. I know I promised no more politics as usual, but THIS isnt what anyone had in mind for ALASKA.
Palin then talks about her choices given the lawsuit problem.
PALIN: If I have learned one thing: LIFE is about choices! And one chooses how to react to circumstances. You can choose to engage in things that tear down, or build up. I choose to work very hard on a path for fruitfulness and productivity. I choose NOT to tear down and waste precious time; but to build UP this state and our country, and her industrious, generous, patriotic, free people! Life is too short to compromise time and resources... it may be tempting and more comfortable to just keep your head down, plod along, and appease those who demand: "Sit down and shut up", but that's the worthless, easy path; that's a quitter's way out. And a problem in our country today is apathy. It would be apathetic to just hunker down and go with the flow. Nah, only dead fish "go with the flow". No. Productive, fulfilled people determine where to put their efforts, choosing to wisely utilize precious time... to BUILD UP. And there is such a need to BUILD up and FIGHT for our state and our country. I choose to FIGHT for it! And I'll work hard for others who still believe in free enterprise and smaller government; strong national security for our country and support for our troops; energy independence; and for those who will protect freedom and equality and LIFE... I'll work for and campaign for those PROUD to be American, and those who are INSPIRED by our ideals and won't deride them. I WILL support others who seek to serve, in or out of office, for the RIGHT reasons, and I don't care what party they're in or no party at all. Inside Alaska or Outside Alaska.
Palin then chooses a course of action from her choices, given the lawsuit problem.
PALIN: But I wont do it from the Governors desk.
Palin only then mentions her lame duck status as an after thought...
PALIN:And so as I thought about this announcement that I wouldnt run for re-election and what it means for Alaska, I thought about how much fun some governors have as lame ducks
travel around the state, to the Lower 48 (maybe), overseas on international trade as so many politicians do. And then I thought thats whats wrong many just accept that lame duck status, hit the road, draw the paycheck, and milk it. Im not putting Alaska through that I promised efficiencies and effectiveness! ? Thats not how I am wired. I am not wired to operate under the same old politics as usual. I promised that four years ago and I meant it.
I already pointed this out to you last week.
You ignore the full detailed context of what she said and you remove from context what only fits your bias.
As I said in my previous post, at the very least when it comes to Palin, you are beyond reason.

I guess this is intended as a big “gotcha.”
Thank you. I’m quite well aware that Palin mentioned the lawsuits in her speech. I’ve watched it and read it several times. Why do you think I included the links?
However, she still gives the not wanting to be a “lame duck” excuse as her reason for quitting.

Geeez!

We'll have to agree to disagree.
To: MayflowerMadam
I meant excerpting. Somehow, the “r” didn’t make the final edit.
I understand why newspaper and wire service stories are excerpted but has Sarah Palin’s lawyers sent a Cease and Desist letter to Jim Robinson or Free Republic warning them of legal action if we reprint in full one of her Facebook posts?
I think not.

You arrogant little puss. You can take your "instructions" and cram them.
Palin() quit because she claimed that she was a lame duck (with 18 months left to go). It was ridiculous then. For the quitter to call any other elected official a lame duck now would be the height of irony if it were not so pathetic.

You appear to not only be verbally challenged, but factual history as well.
What was Clinton called,in the NEWSWEEK article about him, called "THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING PRESIDENT"? Oh gee..........it was "LAME DUCK" and that was two years into his first term! Another article about Clinton, around the same time, asked if Clinton was relevant.
Unlike Governor Palin, neither Clinton nor Obama was/is being sued by cranks, political operatives, and having those cases disrupt the entire government. And please don't even think about bringing up Monica, since THAT mess came to the fore years later.
You're an anti-Palin troll, who twists facts and words to the point of unrecognizableness. Unlike you, we all know and understand what Palin's use of the term "lame duck" means, referring to Obama. And funnily enough, your posted definition proves that her use of that term is quite apt.
To: EveningStar
A projection complex is treatable, so please seek immediate help.
You see a "gottcha moment" in someone else' reply, when all of your replies are, in point of fact, supposed to be "gottachas" ?
When an elected official is incapable of carrying out his/her job, due to a political environment that precludes his/her ability to do so, that person IS referred to as a "lame duck".
To: EveningStar
"And what are you going to do if she decides to not run?" What you don't seem to realize is that I know what I plan to do. You see, I am Sarah Palin. "Gargantua" is my FReeper logon.

For the sake of your own credibility, you might want to run spell check if you aren’t able to spell “professional”. It’s elementary school stuff — not even rising to the level of eighth grade.
