...ODONNELL: We actually just heard a conservative Republican say that we're going to fix the country, and some of that is gonna be through revenue increases, tax increases. Doesn't want to use the word tax but that's what it is. Weve got a Republican here talking about tax increases. Is this the first flicker of hope that the Republican tax cut fever might be fading?
ROBERT REICH: Lawrence, I think that it is a big deal
Weve got to be practical, weve got to be reasonable, weve got to deal with this budget deficit. And maybe we are seeing the beginning of a willingness to raise taxes on corporations and indeed, raise taxes on the very wealthy. Wouldnt that be something!

Take this article and others I found to the fight to the Libs on their own turf; put the Left on the defensive at at Digg and at Reddit and in Delicious and Stumbleupon
yes Larry and Bob,
The adminstration is going to take more of YOUR income and use it to pay down the debt.
Want to bet on it?
Taking more money out of the productive private economy and diverting it to the destructive government operation will be a disaster.
If this were a perfect world, or even a logical world, I’d agree that taxes will have to be raised (a bit) to pay off all the debt we have.
However, I’m old enough and wise enough to know what our beloved politicians would do if more money was collected by the feds.....they would spend more....for the children.
So...logically I’m in favor of a tax increase, but logically I’m not. Go figure....
Note that both O'Donnell and Reich will be targeted.
=====
I suggest that Republicans say "OK, we will increase revenues to reduce the debt. We propose targeted revenue enhancements. We will draft our "Fair Revenue Enhancement to Reduce the Debt Act" which taxes at a modest 45% (forty five percent) of the assets of such businesses and groups as:
Like Bruce Springsteen who claims his estate as a farm in order to take a big tax cut,
Talk about the rich. Who is richer than these creeps?
Who can deny that members of the above are:
Rush? Hannity? Quinn? Sarah? can we hear this from you?
I'll say it myself -
targeted revenue enhancements
targeted revenue enhancements
targeted revenue enhancements
Anybody agree? Disagree?
I get what you’re saying.
This isn’t the first time Coburn has turned on the American public and the GOP mainstream. I can;t recall the l;ast time this bearded Judas did something like this - perhaps on Illegals?
I like this thinking...
I think $millionnaires that don’t employ more than 3 people and ‘spread their wealth’ should be targeted. lol Including members of the grand DC elite club.
Yes, the Universal Ointment to draw the Tax loving Press. Have you ever noticed how there is hardly ever a tax the Press does not love?
Have you never noticed they never mention how the tax increase will hurt the poor? How it will increase unemployment. How it will drive businesses out of state or even out of the country?
Don't hold your breath. The majority of the Press is just that liberal.
Now that is a sensational image.
Could those who donate to Foundations with “particular” agendas (think Tides Foundation, etc.) be targeted, too?
Republicans control the House, where all fiscal legislation originates. They can write the "Fair Revenue Enhancement to Reduce the Debt Act" any way they see fit.
The pulse is getting a little weak.
The tax motto: We don’t stop til we got the last drop!
