The fact that every level of government taxes our income, consumption and property prompted John R. Smith to ask in the title of a recent BizPacReview post, “Why don’t they just tax our corpses?”
Owning an automobile requires that we pay a sales tax, title and registration fees, annual registration fees, ad valorem taxes, state and federal gas taxes, and, if we want to avoid the “I-95 parking lot,” we pay a turnpike toll. Even if we don’t own an automobile, our taxes help pay for our neighbor’s hybrid car, and for the ethanol he pumps into it. Apparently, this isn’t enough for the Obama administration.

Wouldn’t work. They’d charge you for the permit, tax on the food, disposal fees for the horse crap and then strap a pedometer to his leg so they could charge you for each footstep.

It is well past time for the American people to rise up once again against this kind of taxation..without our permission..
I won’t buy a new car no matter how nice they are now if they have that &*^& “black box” that can tell how far we drive and where and if we ever so much as go one mile over the speed limit so that they can come back at ticket us months later...and maybe we weren’t even driving our car..
We are so screwed in this country unless the sheep of the nation wake up..otherwise those of us who are awake are too few in number to make a difference or change in things.
They do. It's called inheritance tax.
The more government interferes with the free market system, the more they screw it up. This is just one more example.
