Another Reason Not to Use Google
Bing ^ | Today | Me

Posted on 05/30/2011 5:36:25 AM PDT by NWFLConservative

As if we needed another reason not to use Google. For those of us who have gone in harms way to protect our way of life, and have lost friends or relatives in WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam, I take this very personally. I look at my three Purple Hearts and thank God that one of them was not my last. It must have just PAINED those military hating, San Fransickness goons at Google to put that microscopic flag on their homepage. Last year on Memorial Day they celebrated PAC MAN of all things. Bing on the other hand, had a very sobering photo of the US cemetery at Normandy. Today they have a road lined with Old Glory.

I use both Google and Bing. I WANT to like Bing, unfortunately, the results it gives still aren’t as good as Google. I’d say I use Bing first 30% of the time, but for half those attempts eventually result in a Google search.

I agree. If I am looking for a hard to find part for equipment, you can’t beat a google search.

I use google to look up information. If I want a site to make me feel all gooey and patriotic, I would go to Free Republic. Google is a tool for information not a place where I need to get some patriotism. This is just silly. We certainly are acting like little kids.

I find Yahoo search just as effective as Google. Plus, we all know about Google....

I just clicked on “Tell us what you think” on Bing to thank them for significantly commemorating Memorial Day on their home page today.

We have to let folks know when they are doing the right thing.

Pacman?

That’s a yellow ribbon over a very small American Flag.

I don’t like google’s politics either, but.....

Same here, I’d like to use Bing, but in my work I need results and Bing nor Yahoo delivers. Wish Google had equitable competition, but they don’t.

I only use Google when it is absolutely necessary.

Notice how Google couldn’t even stand to just put a flag on the homepage, no matter how small. They had to put a stupid yellow ribbon in front of it, so the people they want to impress will understand that this is a Memorial Day thing, and is in no way patriotic.

They have earned my emnity the old fashioned way.

Last year they did Pacman. This year they did the teeny-tiny American Flag.

I have Bing as my home page. It was so nice to turn on the computer and see their page today.

I keep trying other engines but none of the work like Google, and I keep ending up back with them, despite my hatred of them.

They are the number one company admired by liberals. They are extremely lib.

I keep waiting for another worthy competitor. I’ll try Bing again, but what happens is I end up frustrated and switching back.

Have not used google for 2 years and won’t again for the very reasons above and much more such as directed searches to their preferences and hiding other content.

I like Bing!

I have been pleased with my search results from ixquick:

http://www.ixquick.com/

“the world’s most private search engine”

I don’t get why people suggest Bing as being a “conservative” alternative to Google. Microsoft is just as much in bed with the left as Google is. The same can be said for most tech companies.

ixquick.com — better than google or bing, and affirmatively does not keep records of your search.

That ixquickk is a metasearch engine, which means it’s probably using Google for the results.

Dogpile is another such metasearch engine that uses Google.

You must visit Google daily. How do you like their results in your searches?
