Something fishy about that. Do you know of any State Registrar office in the United States that is open on a Sunday ? Aug 6, 1961 occurred on a Sunday, so how could it be filed ? August 6 was the date the certificate was filed with by the registrar (as it says on the form - not with the registrar.)

You are absolutely correct, of course, about August 6 being a Sunday.
If I was correct about the date, then I would say that we have a major problem with the Waidelich certificate.
A closer look reveals that what I read as a "6" is distinctly different from the known "6" in "1961."
Note specifically that the "6" appears to have kind of a flat edge at the upper right. Also note that the lower circle-loop in the known "6" appears clearly larger than the corresponding lower circle-loop in the character that I read as a "6." (In fact, the "6" looks a lot like an inverted "9.")
The latter of these two is especially telling.
And take another look. The overall shape definitely appears different from the earlier character.
I have therefore misread the date on the image, and Waidelich's certificate was filed BY the Register, not WITH the Registrar (another good catch), on Tuesday, August 8.
All of which highlights the difference between myself and a lot of other people involved in this discussion: When you point out that I've made a mistake, I actually admit that you're right, correct the mistake, and proceed from there.
