No offense intended here but just asking. Common sense tells me that a short burst of machine gun fire would do the same job without wasting a bomb (meant to kill a lot of people at once) that costs thousands of dollars to kill one person.

My thinking is that the local word-of-mouth advertising value would make it worth it. News will travel fast about the jihadi that was walking down the street and got turned to chunky soup by overwhelming American firepower. It’s a safe bet that recruitment will be down in that area for a while. Fewer people fighting against us means fewer American casualties. yeah, short-term it was expensive, but long-term it may pay dividends and end up being a bargain.
