Andrew Jackson quit from the Senate and then 2 1/2 years later he was elected president. Please answer this question and thank you in advance: Were the people who voted for Andrew Jackson, "stupid"?
If I'm in the right you can bet the farm on it.
Again, this isn't "teach 'em a lesson in civility" time.
Comparing America in the 1820s to America in 2012 is absurd to begin with. Had there been all the avenues for news, debate, dissemination of information and opinion almost two hundred years ago that exist today then I suspect that AJ might not have succeeded to the presidency.
SP will have to endure a relentless multi-media, multi-dimensional campaign designed specifically to keep her quitting in the limelight. She will have to adress the issue over and over on the national stage. Jackson had nothing like that working against him.
The effect will be to keep the independants who gave us dear leader from turning 180 degrees in their opinion and voting for Palin. It will keep a certain percentage of disenchanted dims from following suite.
It will give us an unelectable candidate and that is stupid.
Thank you wtc911 Nostradamus.
You kids just can’t resist the temptation to be snotty, can you? Why so many of you think it makes for a clever form of discussion is beyond me.
