I never thought that could happen until I read an article about a man who had just celebrated his 35th birthday at a club in Manhattan with 10 of his friends.
A fight broke out between one of his friends and two workers at the club. When the 35 year old tried to intervene, one or two men slammed up against the elevator doors. The force of their bodies popped the doors open, and the guy celebrating his birthday fell four stories down the elevator shaft to his death.

It is reasons like that why I usually back down from fights anymore. When I was young and dumb, I was always itching for a fight to prove my manhood. Then I met a man in the army who was itching to put men like me in my place.
The drill instructor won, and I finally grew up. Now I back away and allow the other guy to think he is the better man.
