A natural born citizen is limited to the descendants of the original citizens after the ratification of the Constitution.

What about the descendants of slaves?

Tricky one: Those formerly in slavery at the time of the 14th Amendment's Ratification, and the 15th's, were made citizens. Their offspring and descendants were and are "Natural Born Citizens."

IOW, Those formerly in slavery themselves were not "Natural Born Citizens," but made citizens by law.
