Start looking at huge categories of spending from a zero-based point of view. Anything that the federal government is not REQUIRED to do is a target.
Cutting discretionary spending is nowhere near enough. You could zero out *all* spending but defense, medicare/medicaid, and social security, and we would still run a deficit.
Yep, time to get radical, to hell with 2015, how about next year, all income, estate, capital gains taxes gone, fair tax on consumption only, complete departments of the government gone, IRS,Dept of education, roll back government funding to 1950 levels, let the roads go for a couple of years, whatever it takes to zero our debt and start to minimize funding to the federal government, put the military on the border, sell of some National Parks.. we cannot pee wee around with this, if we want to be a solvent country its time to boldly act..thats what the tea party and the freshmen are there for..
We need to reign in this federal power before we are slaves to its corruption..our growth for business would boom and if we stayed on the path for years to come we would return to the biggest industrial, agricultural, medical, science economy’s in the world...we need to pass legislation to limit the growth of the federal government, It is easier to handle issues on the state level, all the federal system does is waste...its got to go if we want to be free.
Sounds good although I would demand something much more drastic. After all if we do nothing the Federal Government will default and we will be rid of the whole monster eventually.
What is in it for us to allow it to be fixed at a big overbearing yet for a time sustainable government?
