Lisa Murkowski attacks Sarah Palin and the Tea Party, calling Alaska her state and bragging of the fact that she and her supporters were able to make their own decisions regarding who to send to the Senate. In a brief interview with Fox News Dan Springer at quarter to midnight Alaska time, Murkowski was clearly enthusiastic and in a celebrating mood. Looking energized, Murkowski saw fit to take some potshots at Palin and the organic movement of the Tea Party as a whole, casting them both as outsiders who really didnt have any business in trespassing in her state and backing Joe Miller. While her comments smack a bit of Republican establishment elitism, from her standpoint, she does have reason to brag, or, at least, be very optimistic. Shes actually on the verge of being only the second individual to win a write-in campaign for the Senate.

Military ballots have NOT been counted yet, and outlaying areas could take a week or more to get the result. So Sarah commented on last night.
I would like to know what the hell is wrong with the Alaskan population to elect a snob like her! What in the world are they thinking! IDIOTS!
Then go. A lot of good things happened here, Parnell, a man of impeccible integrity, conservative principles, and skill, won handily. Young won handily. The state house and senate moved right. I met, supported and voted for Miller but he executed a lousy campaign including too many stupid ads.
You throw a third person in any race and this sort of thing happens. If Lisa had been a lady, the race would have easily been won by Joe.
I just woke up, my power had been off in the night, so I am still a bit in the dark on all this
Don’t they have to READ all the write-in votes?
I do not know that
I voted for both, but the outcome isn’t confusing, just very frustrating for a number of reasons of which some are due to Miller.
“Dont they have to READ all the write-in votes?”
Yes they do.
But, if I understand correctly, they will throw away any votes that don’t reach a certain ‘minimum’ count.
Wouldn’t matter though. If 4% of the write-ins are thrown out, the Lisa loses.
But, anything can happen. Including awarding her the throw aways as votes for her.
I would almost be willing to bet that when they are counted that they will be. i.e. vote fraud.
If you wish to wear the republican tag then by all means do so. As an independent I will no longer be identified with the rydel-murkowski pseudo conservative group I so disdain. BTW I held my nose and voted for parnell also though I don’t share your esteem for him. I no longer want my name associated with the republican party, I’ve worked too hard to gain a respectable position and reputation.
Yeah.
Read my post above yours.
Not a snowball chance in hell of Alaska leaving the federal nipple. Thats how we got to where we are. Thats how queen lisa kept her throne. You and I may cherish independence and choose it over slavery but the majority of Alaskans as represented now by both parties prefer serving their federal masters. I see it every day. I have watched it grow like a cancer here in the valley even. They have now a critical mass that will choke the remaining life out of the states economy. Forgive my foul mood but this is a bad day for the state. It is also a moment of clarity that will from now on establish which side of the fence you are on.
...and we are on the outside looking in, and don’t see all you do. Frustrating may be better than confusing. I left Alaska in 1975 under protest, but since I couldn’t protest my boss, I left, under protest. USAF 1, me zero. Worked out OK, but we dearly loved Alaska. Our number one son is buried at Ft Richardson.
I’m sorry to hear for your loss.
Thanks, it was a long time ago, crib death, but we still remember. Don’t need tears on a joyous day.
Lisa I don’t think you want to pi$$ off Sarahcuda.
Drop the "gansta" talk. It is very worthy. The proper word is "bitch".
Somewhere on FR there is a list of the “Write-in” candidates. I believe the final tally of “qualified” candidates for Senator was 82.
What's a "beyatch"? Do you mean "bitch"? Why bastardize the English language?
