Obama Debt Panel Plans $2.4 Trillion in Post-Election Tax Hikes (Obama New Year's Resolution, Spend)
ATR ^ | 10/25/10 | Ryan Ellis

...So, altogether we're talking about a five-year tax hike in the neighborhood of $2.4 trillion. This is a pretty good proxy for the ten-year CBO/JCT score given the fact that the report says these will be curtailed, not eliminated.

Getting rid of these tax credits and deductions might be a good idea in the context of revenue-neutral (or tax-cutting) comprehensive tax reform--but that's not what's on the table here. This is a pure tax hike, plain and simple. There's no doubt that the government would spend all the new money, as well. We'd end up with higher taxes and higher spending, just like after the 1982 and 1990 budget deals.

It is a great weakness of this country that we can’t be casting a vote of “no confidence” on Nov. 2 that would force BO and his dreary band of czars from power.

I fear this is true. So... I'm dumping my stocks this year and paying the lower capital gains tax in 2010. We are moving ever closer to the day when entrepreneurs leave the USA for greener pastures. Who wants to exist for the purpose of feeding losers?

Maybe dump the 401k portfolio as well. The tax and penalty will be cheaper this year than next. Go to cash and convert to real money. I'm thinking a safe deposit box in London stuffed with Swiss Francs is the better bet.

If they take away my mortgage interest deduction, chances are I’m walking out on my mortgage. Why? Why the hell NOT?

Where are the greener pastures?

China, Singapore and India. Brazil is a possibility. Think global, screw local... I'm not interested in being a slave to socialism. Let the zombie class that elected Obama pay the bill...

We the people have a very powerful weapon in our hands. Form a mortgagee union and go on strike. No more monthly mortgage payments until our demands are met. Seeing the birth certificate is the first demand...

Sounds like a plan, but wait until after the Congressional elections until doing anything really big. If the Senate is sufficiently under 60 Democrats then they can’t do anything to big except through reconciliation. (The future Senators from West Virginia, Illinois, and Delaware get their seats early because they’re technically replacements.)

I can’t do that. I have children and elderly family members living on my property.

Nope, won’t work. In 2009, I wanted to hire one of our own to bring criminal charges against Barry the Bastard for election fraud, but John Armour advised to not waste the money, the courts would not deal with it even if true and I could prove it, which I could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt without the court authorized discovery process to produce documents from Hawaii, Occidental College, and Indonesia. The criminal fix is way bigger than just Nazxi Pelicanosi forging eligibility for the bastard in the Oval orificie.

Agreed. The breadth of this cover-up is beyond comprehension. The only thing missing at this point are the dead bodies of those who get too close to the truth. Other than Election Night Granny, its been quiet so we know nobody is close yet... Sort of makes the Rule of Law a joke, no?

I wrote this on another thread..

Blast from the past dep't: In the late 70's during the Carter administration..gas lines and the misery index...interest rates on bank CD's got as high as 15-16%..the Dems introduced a bill to REQUIRE banks to withhold 20% to the IRS. People went nuts..especially older voters..bombarding the WH and Capitol with mail, phone calls and faxes..and the bill was dropped..and this was BEFORE the internet, talk radio, new media, cable TV, etc...If they try it, it will create a huge sh**storm..
