Tonighton the same day that President Obama endorsed his rallyJon Stewart came out swinging with his strongest anti-Obama Daily Show segment to date. Inside, video of the unexpected segment, during which Stewart basically called Obama a dishonest idealist.

Sounds like Liebowitz is trying to fool people into thinking his pro-Obama rally isn’t pro-Obama. I guess he wants to continue his facade as being a non-partisan “journalist.”
Although fundamentally clueless because he lacks any reliable compass to guide his values Stewart, unlike the vast majority of his fellow Leftists, is at least is not afraid to draw a line in the sand he is unwilling to cross in terms of mindless allegiance to the Keystone Cops running this nation.
I don’t exactly see how that’s turning against Obama.
If he did this on a nightly basis I would think different of him. But he doesn’t and the whole tenor of his flip flip trip is to support the democrats despite common sense, despite what the nation thinks, despite all better judgment. Why? Because they are his base. They pay his bills and are his laughs — everything is done for money (that’s how democrats think).
I have to admit, that was hilarious.
Especially his excerpting the Obama Madison speech. Obama flogging to death his childish driven-into-the-ditch allegory. I cannot believe he thinks his college kid audience is so moronic as to swallow that but I guess I’m wrong. Is he speaking in preacher cadences or babytalk? And does anyone besides me notice the ten-year metaphor cropping up continually from him and his gang, i.e. “it took us ten years to get here” et cetera? Presumably to prepare us rubes keep the faith during another decade-long Great Depression.
As for Stewart, well, this may be a “profiles in courage” moment but it’s more likely he is gauging the mood of his audience and struggling to keep up with them. The problem for Obama and the dem leadership is that shallow, superficial people are fickle and can dump the Next Big Thing just as quickly as they took it up. Jon Stewart can smell the zeitgeist turning and does not want to be pigeonholed as hardcore Obama defender. He may be a lib but I’m sure he lives, breathes and sleeps ratings and can see what has happened to the lib media.
You can’t be hip, cool and edgy as a one-note wonder. Jon knows this and does not want to be left behind.
His audience of twenty-somethings (no, I do not believe the meme that everybody under the age of forty watches “The Daily Show” for their news) is feeling the economic heat big time and they are getting mad. Obama is not delivering and that’s the long and short of it.
As the god-like teflon wears off we’re going to see some choice Obama caricatures and lampooning in the months to come.

I think that's giving him far too much credit.
He's a Manhattan elitist, and that's as difficult as crack to break the addiction from.
Pride is the most deadly of sins.
The Internet is thrashing both the Republican and Democrat parties. They both are having a “progressively” harder and harder time with business as usual.
“I am not anti-Jewish, but Jews in this country are overwhelmingly liberal, not just liberal but extreme liberals”
I agree but I got skewered by another freeper for venting about these liberal Jews that voted for the pos in the WH. Ya know, I lost a lot of sleep just thinking about it. :-)
LOL!
I watched all 7+ minutes. The message is that the Dems and Obama need to do more to push their Leftist agenda. There is no substantive criticism of Obama’s policies.
Not this Jew guys...not this Jew. At this point, a lot of my co-religionists make me wonder WTF too.
Jon StewRAT-Leibowitz is a POS.
who cares what Jon Stewart thinks?
he’s an asshat
must be an under 45 thing
It’s funny and at it’s at Obama’s expense.
Who tinkled in your Post Toasties?
He's got to pitch his life to stay alive... I guess I'll be happy if every now and then he's fair to us. That's probably the most we can expect.
You’ve got some insightful stuff in there, sinanju. I think I’ll be thankful when Stewart’s fair to us - and not expect more...
Good point. On the other hand, Stewart might be like lots of liberal elites and think giving ‘to the poor’ - no matter what the damage to everyone - including the poor - is good. “Elite guilt” can be more destructive than ‘white guilt’... I keep praying Joh’s smarter - but maybe he’s not.
LOL!
