You’ve only known him for a week, how do you know he is the best? I could make the arguement Rubio is.

Crist was NEVER a threat in a GOP Primary.

Just spotted this. You really, REALLY can't be serious, can you? Crist started out WAY ahead of Rubio and with a sizeable warchest and the advantage of being the sitting governor of the state. Yet you, Mr. Knows-it-All, can sit here and say that Crist was NEVER a threat in the GOP primary? Guess what, Bucko - it only looks that way now because of the all hard work Rubio - and his many conservative supporters - did over the last two years.

I've seen some ludicrous posts over the years, but you are outdoing yourself on this thread - displaying an utterly abject ignorance of the race you are commenting on.

Question for the candidate.

In the late 80s, as you know there was a major problem with malpractice insurance prices. You led the charge to try to fix this, however, per reports at the time, you were encouraging doctors to walk out of emergency rooms leaving patients untreated. Do you still feel this was the best course of action to tackle this problem?

..and as a clarification to the last question, it seems you were in part responsible for 40 emergency rooms being shut down by encouraging doctors to walk out.

Florida Senate - Rubio vs. Meek vs. Crist AIF/McLaughlin (R) Crist 38, Rubio 36, Meek 16 Crist +2

Florida Senate - Rubio vs. Greene vs. Crist AIF/McLaughlin (R) Crist 37, Rubio 37, Greene 16 Tie

latest polling.

The race is tightened and it seems clear the Democrat contender will be the deciding factor.

That may be true by as far as the GOP Primary the ONLY choice is btween Marco Rubio and Dr. Bill Escoffery. The 3rd candidate (Bill Kogut) in the GOP Primary is not campaigning at all that I have seen. Dr. Escoffery has been on the campaign trail meeting people as various events that Marco Rubio has been invited to but refused to attend or even send a rep to speak on his behalf. He is acting as if he already WON the primary. That is not an attack on him, just a poor campaign strategy IMHO. If he WINS the PRIMARY without even campaigning I will probably have to hold my nose and vote for him in the General Election because at that point the alternatives are much worse, but I suspect that Charlie Crist will win the General Election because most of the DEMS will support Crist over Meek.

Crist has WIDE DEM support there is no doubt about that. Marco Rubio is TOO young and inexperienced in LIFE to beat Crist in the general election.... IMHO the DEMS will DESTROY Rubio in General election.. IMHO They have NOTHING on Dr. Escoffery, Escoffery is a MUCH bigger threat than Rubio.... again IMHO.. but IF Rubio wins the PRIMARY I will hold my nose and pull the lever for him, but I’m afraid that just won’t be enough...

Maybe you should post an actual question to Dr. Escoffery right here on FR. I am sure he will be happy to answer it. I am NOT his spokesperson, I am just a regular FReeper who supports him and advised him to get on here and address the FReeper audience.

The $$$$ swayed him. Remember, David is being PAID to flack for Eshoofly (and smear Rubio). I call that attitude "toxic."

your should disclose you are the “advisor” for this vote splitter candidate.

A PAID "advisor." What is more surprising than the sleaze David is spreading is his utter LACK of shame in doing so. He has no problem making allegations about Rubio that could harm him in the general election. A TOXIC attitude. And it doesn't seem to bother him a bit.

You are a truly delusional person if you think that. But, then again, you apparently have no knowledge of the history of this race - from thinking that Crist was a pushover to thinking that Rubio was the choice of RINO establishment Republicans - so why should your opinions about the current state of the race be worth any more than the dollar Escoffery apparently paid you?

He is acting as if he already WON the primary.

Considering I can't find a single polling outfit that has polled the Florida GOP Senate race, I'd say Rubio is so far ahead that they don't even bother. So yes, that DOES mean Rubio has for all practical purposes won the primary - and he has fought long and hard for that win - something yet again you apparently don't know - and also that Rubio has held a debate, against Crist while Crist was still seeking the GOP nomination.

I give my 2 cents worth of advice to anyone who asks it. I don’t speak for Dr. Escoffery, I did however invite him to become a FReeper which resulted in him posting this thread and actually answering questions on FR. You can attack me all you want that is fine, but I do not speak for Dr. Escoffery, I look forward to reading his posts on FR and reading his answers to any legitimate questions. I was just stating my opinion as to why I chose to support Dr. Escoffery in the PRIMARY... Defend YOUR guy all you want and I will do the same... again MY opinion is just that...

again I can only speak for myself, but I choose to vote for who I think would make the BEST U.S. Senator for Florida, not always the one who ran the best campaign and raised the most money... Most voters who take the time to understand the differences between Dr. Escoffery and Marco Rubio will agree that Dr. Escoffery has LIVED a conservative life longer than Marco Rubio has been alive. How important and relevant that is would be up to the individual voter.

Thanks for your thorough reply. You filled some gaps that may have puzzled people. Although I'm not a Florida voter, having these answers would make me feel better if I were a Florida voter. Those of us in Free Republic appreciate the chance to receive these kinds of complete answers from the folks who want to represent us. I wish you well in your efforts!

interesting thing about these polls is that the questions are specifically designed to make the responder choose between Crist or Rubio, and completely ignoring the actual REPUBLICAN PRIMARY... If Marco Rubio would attend some of these events that Dr. Escoffery is going to or at least send a REP.. I am sure with all the funds he has in his campaign war chest he can afford to pay someone to show up on his behalf or make a statement on his behalf like (sorry I am so busy on the campaign trail) <— Where is he by the way? I have heard rumors that Marco Rubio is being “groomed” for a Presidential run, has anyone else heard that? If so, does he at least intend to finish ONE term or will he (if actually elected) just serve 1/3rd of a term and start running for President? Or maybe when Charlie Crist beats him in the general election he will abandon the U.S. Senate all together and just run for President in 2012.
