Hello Patriots in Freeperland !

As the title suggests I am Dr. Bill Escoffery III. One of my advisors suggested I create an account on FreeRepublic and open the floor up for any discussions about my campaign for U.S. Senate. So here it is.

Thank you very much. I just called Dr. Escoffery and informed him that his post was back up after being reviewed. I am sure he will back on this thread as his time permits.

I advised Dr. Escoffery to post some specifics about his views and open the floor for specific questions. I look forward to seeing what he will post.

Dr. Bill ...

My advice is to avoid the formulaic campaign in this election cycle. Cut out all the nebulous 'for the children' language and talk about specific problems and issues that the country is facing right now.

Also, rather than join your adversary in negative campaigning you'll do much better if you can transcend the negativity - brush it firmly aside - and instead take any opportunities to, once again, address today's serious challenges.

Briefly: 1) It is clear to me that America’s very survival as a Free Republic is threatened by the current administration and by our government in D.C. 2) I believe that our individual freedoms are in jeopardy. 3) Specifically I oppose the current health care law, will do everything I can to reverse it. A replacement would focus on Tort Reform, purchasing health insurance across state lines, importing discounted drugs, fraud & waste reduction, elimination of government involvement with health care across the board, consumer-rewards for compliance with health norms, nurse case risk-managers following & monitoring complex patients to ensure compliance and decrease costs, online screening panels to offload Emergency Room costs, and much more. 4) With regard to the judiciary, I would have attempted to prevent Kagan from going to the Supreme Court. But the real problem is that we should not have to undertake what I call “The Five/Four” battle to protect valid legislation reflecting the will of the people from being reversed for spurious reasons. On my site I examine in detail the Constitutional problems troubling our country that go as far back as 1803 with the case of “Marbury v. Madison” which initiated the concept of “Judicial Supremacy.” We need to reverse this travesty, “downsize” the Commerce Clause, strengthen the Tenth Amendment; and protect our state and individual rights from the Federal Government. 5) We also need to abolish the Federal Income Tax and force the feds to balance their budget.

There is so much more that we need to discuss. But this is hopefully a start in answering your questions. The reason I am involved is that, as a Patriotic, American (Non-RINO) Conservative who clearly sees the problems, I believe that I am obliged to act rather than doing as so many do and just send a bunch of screwy e-mails around to blow off steam.

Bill

Thank you. I want it to work, but if you don't know your way around here you will be mercilessly attacked.

It keeps the riff-raff and the liberals out that way. ;0)

Be sure to read the home page. It tells you pretty much what you need to know. Except for the fact that we also like to post (allegedly) funny stuff, too. You won't be able to avoid it. We're just funnin' and everybody gets treated the same.

Welcome to Free Republic!

The only negative that I think is “fair game” right now is the fact that Marco Rubio has refused to engage him in a debate on the issues.. Other than that I concur with your advice Duke !

Paulycy,

I assume that post was for Dr. Escoffery not me. I have been around the FR block for quite sometime.. been suspended more than a few times early on in my FR tenure :) But I have a firm grasp of the obvious now :)

narses,

Asking Dr. Escoffery to go read something on another site and then return to FR for comment is inappropriate IMHO. Please post your question I am sure he will be happy to address it.

Thanks. That is a good introduction to his stated positions.

It will be very interesting to see what the other FReepers think of them and how the Good Doctor responds.

Excellent. :0)

Why is that not “appropriate”? Are you affiliated with the campaign?

It was the reason the thread was removed. There were complaints that Dr. Escoffery was referring folks to his website for answers rather than posting the questions/answers here on FreeRepublic. In essence driving hits to other websites unnecessarily. Folks need not go to other websites.. they can remain here post a specific comment/question to be asked/answerd here. That was the main issue. Freepers should not be obligated to go to Dr. Escoffery’s campaign website to get a simple question answered. Of course detailed position statements are available on his website. Yes I am a supporter of Dr. Escoffery, and as previously reported here on FR, yes I am a PAID consultant. Dr. Escoffery revealed my salary in a previous post without my permission but so be it :) LOL

Having said all that.. taken from Dr. Escoffery’s Campaign website page TERM LIMITS
http://www.senatebill.us/Term%20Limits.htm

TERM LIMITS:
TERM LIMITS: Given the current realities and abuses of The “Career Politician” paradigm I support mandatory term-limits for the U.S. House and Senate: Four terms (8 years) for the House Members & two Terms (12 years) for the Senate.

mdittmar,

I am not sure if Dr. Escoffery will adress that or not. I can tell you that based on conversations I have had with him he is a strong Christian Conservative with a solid Christian world-view. As far as engaging in a religious doctrine debate I would not count on it. But I do look forward to seeing what he posts.
