This has been happening to me more and more. I copied the address and loaded it directly into the address box. But then Google reroutes the address and spams me over to here:

http://images.google.com/images?q=http://www.thepostemail.com/2010/07/03/citizen-has-standing-to-contest-the-eligibility-of-candidates-for-office/

I didn’t ask google to search. I simply loaded an address manually, me myself and I ... in the address box.

"If he gets amnesty for his 30-40 million new socialist voters..."

"Amnesty" ain't "Citizenship"...and you are supposed to be a citizen to vote.

I don't see how - except by one of his bogus executive orders, he can "naturallize" that many people in five months.

On the other hand, the sure-fire rememdy is to motivate enough conservative voters to the polls to offset the surge.

Americans will be paying a lot more attention this time around, I'm thinking. I'm volunteering to be a poll monitor this year, in fact, a lot of people I know are volunteering.

This bunch in DC has GOT TO GO.

Someone needs to explain to this boob what the definition of ‘standing’ is as it applies to civil suits.

RE #16

Well since FR archives don't go back past 2002 (and even if they did I really wouldn't want to spend hours if not days trying to find the info you request) that would be a little hard.

However since your memory seems faulty there are a lot of others who do remember:

Didn’t we hear the same tin-foil hat suggestions nearing the end of Clinton’s second term?

-----------

This crud is much older than Clinton’s day. We heard this shortly story shortly before Nixon’s resignation.

------------------------

The sad thing is that I recall speculation about that by some lunatic fringe “conservatives” back when Clinton was in office.

8 posted on Friday, July 06, 2007 5:23:10 PM by mgstarr

----------------

I recall that as well. A theory being bandied about: will Clinton stay in office longer than he is allowed?

11 posted on Friday, July 06, 2007 5:26:26 PM by lowbridge

-----------------

Yes, and much worse. Clinton signed a secret executive order giving himself all power; secret plans were prepared to turn over the US to the United Nations, complete with UN troops already in place; and of course armadas of scary white vans were prepped and ready to take gun-owners to camps. These are just some of the things I recall. And as we know, it all happened exactly like that! ;)

Unfortunately, with the internet here to enable and amplify such silliness, I'm afraid these "he's gonna cancel elections" conspiracy theories are destined to be a recurring feature of our democracy from now on. Every generation of paranoid/self-important/loner 19-year-old idiots will rediscover this "theory" on the web (while searching for info about the Bohemian Grove, and the Nebraska child-porn ring run by Bush Sr.) in the year prior to a Presidential election, they will think they are the first to encounter it, and they will rush to "warn" others, thus it will spread and become a full-fledged crazy theory.

This is basically going to happen - i.e., we're going to have to hear about these idiotic theories - every four years from now on.

You are right we did hear the same thing when it was close to the end of Clinton's presidency...or lack of...

You're right, though I wasn't part of the crowd when Clinton was in office. Couldn't stand him, but he's not Obama - and we aren't simply "in a cycle."

All things changed on 11/4/08.

I dont think he likes the day to day realities of being president. I will be surprised if he runs again.

This is what I think will happen.

2010 leads to a massive GOP victory in both houses, even with Dem voter fraud. The Dems will then try to shove every socialist bill they can through between the election and swearing in of the new congress. They will use every underhanded technique they can because this is their last chance. Once Obama loses the ability to pass his agenda he because useless to the socialist cause. That is when a perfect storm of the Blago trial wake, his eligibility and a closer look at the impact of his nationalization efforts will intersect. He will then be removed either through impeachment or illness claim. Biden will be left in charge and to really muck things up for the 2012 election where the GOP is surely to win. However, the Dems will have tried to damage the country so much through Cloward-Piven that it will take a Reagan time 10 to fix it all.

One good thing that has come of the Obama presidency is that we now know who and where many of the power communists are and have been hiding. It will be easier to clean house.

She said in the article that incumbents can’t be trusted to make laws which would force eligibility to be verified because they want to game the system themselves (paraphrased). But I wonder what would happen if a referendum was placed on ballots across the country.

When does that have to get done? When do signatures have to be gathered? I suppose it’s probably too late for the 2010 ballot?

Wish I could be as sure as you. There is still obvious support for O. I went into Manhattan to visit my daughter this weekend and rode in the elevator with a 40s-ish woman. She had an Obama tee-shirt on. I bit my tongue, until she got off.

Bill Clinton did, in fact, have a Y2K contingency plan for martial law. I vaguely recall hearing the senator say, “Good.” Note the word, “contingency”. People were justified in feeling concern. Overreaction? Yes — what do you expect?

This is not wacko stuff; it was covered in Senator Bennet’s Y2K hearing. The senator was pleased that a martial law plan was in place. It was a televised event.

Craziest thing — I found the article on a search engine, clicked on the link, and STILL couldn’t load it while others are able to get there directly from here. There is some serious meddling with the routing process of that web page.

Here's the bet: he resigns before 2012 OR doesn't run for second term.

I have been saying this for quite a while. All it takes is a naturalized American candidate for president running in '12. When rejected for not being NBC, that candidate will have standing to sue and demand that all candidates prove their eligibility.

I don't know how a court will decline the "injured party," the candidate who was refused a place on the ballot, for lack of standing!

Does the RNC have the stones to run such a candidate early enough as a shot across 0b0z0’s bow? Early enough to go to court and get a ruling.

Unfortunately, I doubt it.

Not to get too far off topic but while I agree that Y2K concern was justified that concern brought out the very worst here on FR. It was not our finest moment.

"There will be elections in 2012."

I'm guessing there will also be close to 100% voter turnout...maybe over 100%. Obama will win by an overwhelming majority of the vote, and these guys will be there to make sure it happens...

...that's they way it always works in the third world.
