In Ciudad Juárez, Mexico -- just over the border from El Paso, TX -- gunmen for a drug cartel assassinated "an American consulate worker and her husband to death . . . and killed the husband of another consular employee and wounded his two young children" in separate but coordinated incidents as reported by Marc Lacey for The New York Times:
It was not the first attack against American interests in Mexico by traffickers. Unknown attackers shot at and hurled a grenade that never exploded at the American consulate in Monterrey in 2008. But the killings in Ciudad Juárez on Saturday afternoon of two American citizens and a Mexican national married to an American government employee appeared to take the violence to a new, brutal level. * * * The Ciudad Juárez shootings took place within minutes of each other about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The victims had left a social gathering at another consulate workers home when they were attacked, officials said. The first attack was reported at 2:32 p.m. Jorge Alberto Salcido Ceniceros, 37, the husband of a consulate worker, was found dead in a white Honda Pilot, with bullet wounds to his body. In the back seat, were two injured children, one aged four and one seven. They were taken to the hospital for treatment. * * * Another call came in exactly 10 minutes later, several miles away. This time it was a Toyota RAV 4 with Texas plates that had been shot up, with two dead adults inside and a baby crying from a car seat in the back, the authorities said. A relative identified the dead couple to The Associated Press as Lesley A. Enriquez, 25, a consulate employee, and her husband, Arthur H. Redelf, 30, from across the border in El Paso, Texas.

Ha! Funny...unless you happen to be him...:o)
SUCH lovely people! They are just ‘misunderstood’ terrorists.

According to the newspaper Diario de Juarez, gunmen chased the couple’s white van shortly after 2 p.m. on Saturday, shooting at the vehicle until it swerved out of control, crashing into oncoming traffic near the bridge.
Ms Enriquez, who was four months pregnant with the couple’s second child, was shot in the head, while her husband was shot in his neck and arm. When police officers arrived at the victims’ bullet-riddled Toyota van, they discovered the couple’s baby daughter crying disconsolately in the back seat, Diario de Juarez reported. At first the officers thought the seven-month-old girl had been wounded, but she was unharmed.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton extended her sympathy to the families of the victims and said Washington would continue to work with the Mexican government to bring drug traffickers to justice.
“These appalling assaults on members of our own State Department family are, sadly, part of a growing tragedy besetting many communities in Mexico,” said Mrs Clinton. Washington was committed to: “work closely with the government of President Calderon to cripple the influence of trafficking organizations at work in Mexico,” she said. “
Good article, btw.

This guy is running for Atty. Gen. of California & sounds great. He says he CAN enforce prop. 187 AND he can counter Calif. STUPID enviro regulations.
If we still lived in a world in which international law MEANT something, we would break off relations with Mexico, expel each and every one of their diplomatic staff, deport ALL Mexican illegals after tattooing their butts with a ‘No Admittance to U.S.A.’ mark, and inform Mexico that they can get assistance from their Central and South American buddies like Baby Hugo and Uncle Fidel and Cousin Raoul.
Turn that border into a fortification from one end to the other.
But alas, we live in a liberal-RINO-’Rat world now, where those ‘misunderstood’ terrorists are considered prized commodities for their votes (legal or otherwise) in *American* elections.
Thanks for the ping/posts/links. Condolences to families and friends of those murdered.
The hunt for terrorists near our southern border should be much easier than the hunt half way around the world. We should have many more trained assets in Mexico than anywhere else because of its proximity, the relative easy movement across borders, the number of Americans of Mexican descent and the potential of terrorist trouble in their own country and ours.
