Obama's Big Speech: NO Pivot, Just Lies, Misdirection and Shifting Blame to Others
The Lid ^ | 1/28/10 | The Lid

President Obama's Big Speech was given tonight, and unlike the predictions made by most pundits, there was no "pivot." He doubled down on Cap and Trade, he doubled down on health care and continued to say that the failed stimulus package was successful.

This was a defiant Barack Obama, he attacked the GOP, Industry and very surprisingly the Supreme Court of the United States.

He tried to give the impression that he "felt our pain" but it all seemed hollow. " I never said change would be easy, he said. And that word I, he said it over and over because the speech was much more about HIM than US. There was no indication that the President actually listened to/or cared what American's were saying. He just lied, mis-directed or blamed others. For Example:

The speech is 100% rhetoric designed to pump up his supporters. If he truly wants to continue with his current policies than I encourage him because ultimately, he will lose. He is blindfolded and leading a charge into an abyss.

He is either delusional or his handlers are keeping him insulated from reality.

The speech was nothing but a pep rally to the base of the Democrat party to continue fighting the War On Prosperity. Peppered with bullying from the pulpit to critics and those he disagrees with and lecturing the right.

He’s following the radical handbook - he has no chance unless he manages to foment class hatred. He’s got the bully pulpit, and he’s going to keep at it.

There are lots of decieved people out there to fall for it.

On the other hand, I just checked google trends. There is not one current search pertaining to the speech, but the first five searches are for the ipad.

It’s all bread and circuses.

It's really not all that hard to pit people against things like Big Oil, Big Banks, The Rich, The Upper Class, Big Corn, Big Pharma....

Obamanation is an increasingly dangerous demagogue..... Hugo Chavez with a law degree but apparently little or no understanding of the law or of the US Constitution

That's one thing I can agree on with President Obama. Corporations are not people. Shareholders and corporation officials already have Constitutionally protected free speech as individual citizens. Who wants Hugo Chavez having influence over American elections through Citgo? If I had been in the president's place I would have insulted the decision also.

I think the republic can withstand that. If a candidate can threaten to put an industry out of business(coal), they should be able to respond..

I always come back to “ARROGANT”...he has his agenda and he isn’t about to change it just because a bunch of “unenlightened” conservatives disagree with it. His ego will be his downfall, and it looks like he’ll take a bunch of demo-sheep with him. Okay by me.

For some reason, I knew that MaObama would spew his arrogant Populist rhetoric in the speech. But to attack the Supreme Court for rightly removing Chairman MaO’s best means for cheating on campaign finance was unexpected.

The depth of who this Marxist truly is, was clearly on display last night. It won't be long before even the media sees that their constant exposure of this idiot will accelerate the public’s hatred for him. Although the morning-after crowd are still basking in their warped and twisted spin fantasies about what he said last night.
