"It is a paradoxical truth that tax rates are too high and tax revenues are too low and the soundest way to raise the revenues in the long run is to cut the rates now ... Cutting taxes now is not to incur a budget deficit, but to achieve the more prosperous, expanding economy which can bring a budget surplus."
John F. Kennedy, Nov. 20, 1962
Americans understand history even though today's Democratic party doesn't. JFK got his tax cuts, and the economy prospered. Around 20 years later Ronald Reagan got his tax cuts and the economy prospered. According to the latest Rasmussen poll, Americans want President Obama and his progressive congress to act like Kennedy and Reagan.

It’s because THE MEDIA does not understand it.
It’s not a ‘paradox’ at all, it is just common sense.
If you had a tax rate of 0% what would you get- nothing.
If you had a tax rate of 100% what would you get- ALSO NOTHING! (who would bother to work if it was all taxed away?)
So some where in the middle is the optimal point of that curve. We are WAY PAST the optimal point and into the diminishing returns downward slope of the curve.
The TOTUS already addressed this in the campaign. It’s about “fairness”, it said.
And the conversation is always on FEDERAL taxes. What about all the state, local, sales, and hidden taxes & ‘fees’ we pay? Gas, telephone, cable tv, sales taxes, wage taxes, payroll taxes, school taxes, hotel taxes, cigarette taxes, mercantile taxes, utility taxes, property taxes ...
Beginning April 15th we should all take every single invoice, bill, and receipt we have and add up all the taxes we pay and see what the total is after 1 year. I’d bet we’d be stunned.
TOTUS says he didnt run for public office to serve fat cats!
Government does not create jobs.
They can create an ‘atmosphere’ conducive to creating jobs.
WE THE PEOPLE create jobs, if the atmosphere is correct for doing so.
Obama is making sure that doesn’t happen...
And might I add...CUT SPENDING TOO!!!!.
Here in the PR of Maryland in a high tax county in an incorporated city, we pay upwards of 50%. Which is why we ‘moved up’, simply so we could have a larger deduction. Otherwise, it would be worse, closer to 60%.
Meanwhile, we don’t have cushy pensions and thus, try to save as much as we can.
Needless to say, we don’t belong to fancy clubs or take exotic annual vacations.
