"In the Tank Forever": U.S. Consumers, Retailers in a "Death Spiral," Davidowitz Says
finance.yahoo.com/tech-ticker ^ | 8/27/09 | Peter Gorenstein

Posted on 08/27/2009 9:01:33 PM PDT by Kartographer

Rather than summarize, let me just highlight some of his best one-liners:

On retail: "The retail business is terrible... It's almost all negative." "We're going to close hundreds of thousands of stores." On the consumer:

"They’re still over leveraged, they're losing jobs, their credit has been cut back." On America:

"We are in the tank forever. As a country we are out of control, we're in a death spiral." On the stock market:

"We're in terrible shape. That's what the fundamentals tell me. I can't explain the stock market."

Anyone know a good way to (financially) bet against economic recovery?

There can be no financial recovery until Obozo is out of office.

Well I’m no expert, but how about bringing OUR jobs back to OUR country?

And lowering taxes?

And closing the border?

And releasing our oil and shale reserves?

And denying anchor babies, and expelling illegals?

And getting out of the UN, and refusing their demands for payments?

See, told you I’m no expert.

"There can be no financial recovery until Obozo is out of office rendered impotent."

There. Fixed it for you. A fully Conservative Congress could fix things.

Gold, silver, other precious metals, food and water and medical storage.

When you bet against no recovery, you are in survival mode.

In a “no-recovery” mode, you are in a vacuum, and nature (especially human nature) despises a vacuum.

In the short term, if you know what you’re doing, you can short-sell and make a profit.

Yes. Yes, you are an expert.

The important difference between you and the so-called “experts” who have sold America to communists and terrorists for mere trinkets and selfish greed:

You don’t claim to be an expert.

You just speak the truth.

Oh, The Congress.

That is another issue. There are enough of them that deserve Treason charges that it will take a total earthquake to fix it.

There are some on the Republican side that also deserve same charges.

After this is over we need a real “Committee on Un-American Activities”.

“You know what they say about opening a can of worms? Once they area outside the can you can never get them back in the same size can.”

No, you don't seem to know anything about economics.

Give money to gigantic banks.

Give houses to the homeless.

Give power to the unions.

Print money for our great grand children.

Crush working cars and refrigerators.

Fund lots of useless activist organisations with billions of dollars.

That's how you run and economy!

Um.

The GOP hasn’t helped.

They’re all bought and paid for by the “open borders” clique such as ... I won’t go there.

Remember it wasn’t long ago our own party was calling us “vigilantes”. Remember it was the GOP which first proposed the bailouts. Remember it was the GOP which pushed for a stronger federal government.

(I won’t go there), aided by the utter BUFFOON John McCain, enabled Obama. Almost created him IMHO.

Now the GOP is too embarrassed to stop quivering in abject humiliation and cowardice and the total GOP SCREW-UP when they had their time in office.

What happened to the GOP?

Who did this? And why do they keep trying to stop anyone trying to turn this around?

Is the GOP the problem??

The GOP are a bunch of incompetent buffoons. They are too incompetent to have caused this. The ‘RATS did this to the nation, not the GOP. The GOP’s problem is that most of those bass turds saw this coming and just bailed out of Congress themselves without once warning the Americans who trusted them. They all suck. Starting with that dumbass, Gingrich. I have no use for any of them.

Eloquently put. That’s the problem EXACTLY.

That needs to be said more!! Our founders would have warned us. Some did, even then.

You nailed it.

Maybe there is no GOP. Maybe it’s just one party and the GOP is there as a distraction to make us think that we are voting for the “better” guy.
