Boston Herald ^ | 08/09/2009 | Bill O'Reilly

The current civil war in America is really an uncivil debate about whether or not to trust the federal government. Policy aside, fundamental beliefs are separating Americans into two intense camps.

On the left sits the give-hope-a-chance crew, which supports the dramatic increase in government influence and spending. These pro-Obama citizens believe the president can right economic and social wrongs by dramatically expanding federal power.

Bush expanded federal government too. So lets not make this all about obama. He’s merely doing what they all do, and then adding a little more gusto.

Bush was walking towards the cliff, the Kenyan is racing towards it in a souped up car.

Bush was able to compromise at times and actually throw constitutionalists a bone here and a bone there.

The Kenyan is a dedicated socialist and a racist at that. He is out to destroy the freedoms that our ancestors killed for. He has never compromised.

Cloacal thinking--ie, The idea that no matter what goes in at the top it's all sh*t when it comes out. It is wise to resist this kind of indiscriminate thinking. The differences between Bush and Obama are broad and deep.

GWB was a good man with a lousy balancing act.
Dear Leader doesn't need balance, he's following his plan,
and it depends on what the definition of "change" is.

This article is one of the better summaries I've seen,
no hype or bogus conclusions.
