I never had to do that until I started to discuss Obama's politics with people (libs).
Liberals are always on a guilt trip about anything and everything America and Americans have done.
As has been said many times: Liberalism is a mental disease.
There are alot of very sick libs I just ignore.
I remember when the last election just got going to high speed a co-worker (young lady) ask me what I thought about Obama and implied that being against him would be racist (actually I think she was sounding me out about my beliefs). I told her then that I grew up in Chicago and understood where and how this guy got elected and that I wouldn't vote for a white racist and was damn sure I wouldn't vote for a black racist. I'm sure she now knows what I was talking about. BTW I don't think she voted for him but she lives in Gainesville FL so you just never know. LOL
