Those words are pretty clear, "I don't want to run the auto companies". That's what President Obama said on April 30th. Since then, all he has done is run the auto companies.
Right now, the government is deeply involved on facilitating both the bankruptcy of Chrysler and General Motors. As I reported, the government has funded GMAC and in so doing shut down Chrysler's financing arm and mandated to GMAC that they finance all future Chrysler vehicle purchases. (those that need financing of course) Let's put that into perspective. The government is so deeply involved in running the automakers that they are deciding which financing subsidiary should be closed down and what vehicles another financing subsidiary should finance. Furthermore, they provide billions in government money to facilitate this.

IF it doesn't take half of a fortune to buy it.
When he presented Sotomayor to us he said many words about judges interpreting, not making, the law, blah blah. But it's obvious he didn't mean them, or he wouldn't have nominated her.
He is reported to have said both that the first thing he would do would be to sign FOCA legislation and that FOCA wasn't really a priority for him.
The media won't track it, and his devotees just don't care.
Look at all the people willing to plunk down money for a Lexus, when they could have cheap "basic transportation" for the cost of a heavily rebated Chevy.
There are always people willing to pay five bucks for the Starbucks, when they could have a cup of Maxwell House for a dollar.
Every word he utters haunts me.
My point being, government mandates that make it impossible to buy anything else but “Government Motors”.
“These Words Will Haunt President Obama”
No they won’t. Nobody cares. Wilson was the guy who kept us out of the war ‘till he wasn’t. We sort of expect politicians to be two-faced about the important issues.
What will haunt Obama is if GM and UAW go belly-up anyway. Even that won’t be as important as the economy in general.
If I wanted to own shares in an auto company I would have bought stocks in one.
If Zero's going to do this, he had better act pretty quickly. We're probably not going to get the Senate back, but who knows what will happen with the House. In two years, a fair number of people who bought the "hope" and "change" BS will have wised up.
