Juneau Resident Attempts to Close Down Piper Palin's Lemonade Stand

A Juneau reader, and fan of Governor Palin (a rare breed in Juneau, I'm sure), tells me that the man behind the movement to close down Piper Palin's lemonade stand is one Chip Thoma.

Mr. Thoma leads a group of Juneau residents who are just "sick and tired" of the Palins and the tours that are conducted to the governor's mansion (something that has been occurring in Juneau since the first governor took office). It seems that Governor Palin is so popular with tourists that thousands of people are walking from the docks to the governor's mansion in an attempt to catch a glimpse of the first family. Mr. Thoma feels that this -- along with Piper Palin's lemonade stand, trampoline and buoy swing -- is "bringing down the neighborhood." It seems that Mr. Thoma doesn't enjoy the Palin children very much. Grinch.

(Following the lead of Perez Hilton) you just know that some RAT is looking into the question of whether Piper has falsies and has want to know if she has posed for lingerie ads. And not just for the purpose of destroying her.

There is nothing on the Web to support anything in this blog posting. Can anyone point to something confirming this story?

Mr. Thoma's group has decided to plant "stop tours" signs on the path from the docks to the governor's mansion.

Now that's handy! I'll be in Juneau next week. All I have to do is follow the nice red "Stop Tours" signs to find the mansion! LOL

Piper now has more business experience than Obama, and she's also had her first experience with overbearing government. Palin for President 2044!

AWESOME..when you go there, if you see the idiot..give him a special middle finger salute for me..and yeah, tell him thanks for the signs, it helped you locate the mansion..See, I always knew Obama supporters were stupid, but this guy just proves the obvious. He doesn’t want people finding the mansion, so he posts signs that basically tells people where it is LOL

Thoma, who describes himself as a political gadfly, filed an ethics complaint against Governor Hickel on May 3, 1991, which alleged that Hickel was attempting to use his official position for personal financial gain.

Hickel discussed with his aides ways of retaliating against Thoma. They decided that Thoma's criminal record should be publicized.

The record of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN), a computer system which contains comprehensive criminal records, indicates that inquiries were made concerning Thoma's criminal history on May 7 and May 9, 1991. The record does not show who made the inquiries. A printout of Thoma's criminal record was circulated among the governor's aides.

Thoma's convictions are a matter of public record. The court records in Juneau show two DWI convictions in 1979 and a 1985 cocaine conviction. Thoma was convicted of two additional DWIs in Oregon.

Really, I need a stronger word than “contempt” for people like this.

Evil, traitorous bastards is my description of choice.

Hadn't heard about this particular incident, but there is an orchestrated war of harassment - specious ethics complaints that have the Palins deep in legal fees.
We keep talking about moving the capitol. I'd welcome her to Fairbanks in a heartbeat.

I’m sure if some eager researcher were to investigate one Chip (jerk face)Thoma they would be able to find some skeleton in his closet.
Else ya send a couple of very large Moose hunters over to have his legs broken. Hassle a little girl over a lemmonaide stand.

Palin’s didn’t report earnings from lemonade stand as income.

Piper Palin doesn’t have to if she didn’t make more that a couple thousand.

“Piper now has more business experience than Obama”

Sounds like a great bumper sticker to me! Or a sign for the July 4th Tea Parties.
