Oh, goody.

Time for me to resurrect my favorite inflammatory snipe.

“So...you got a Harley or just a jacket?”

Poseurs.

I got a Harley but no jacket. Does that count?

Not if they want to survive more than 10 minutes.

A segue: Some promotional swag idiot associated with “The Sons of Anarchy” TV series is selling replica 3-piece cuts and shirts to the general public.

Real bikers on their forum have been literally screaming “NO! Don’t do that!”.

Haven’t checked in lately to see if common sense has prevailed yet, or not.

I’ll cut Kelly Osbourne a break because of her dad.

He’s a “biker music god”...:)

I look forward to some damn RUB breaking out in his SOA colors at a swap meet or something where one of the real clubs congregate.

Such as:

"Boy, are you disrepectin' my rags?"

Or:

"Hey, @#$hole, you treadin' on my territory?"

Oh, it's going to be fun.

I know a few so-called "outlaw" bikers, and count them as friends.

But that particular friendship only goes so far with a non-member, and it does not include putting up with a posing butthead, fake SOA colors (or any fake colors, for that matter) or the disrepecting of their legitimate colors in any way.

Most are a "live and let live" type of character, in spite of what the "Gangland" series attempts to present and that silly-ass "Son's of Anarchy", unless and until you cross a particular line.

And posing "rags" is a big line to cross, if you cannot back them up.

I am quite familiar with patch/club protocol and the posters on the SOA forum were desperately trying to keep the ignorati from getting their asses whupped.

We have many friends in many clubs and back in the late 90s, a wannabe made himself a cut with his town/state written on the bottom rocker.

As you know, this is a definite “DO NOT DO”.

[He is not a clubber by any stretch of the imagination; far from it, in fact. he rode a rice burner and is the only biker I’ve ever seen wearing a replica Marlon Brando “The Wild Ones” hat]

Our friend’s club members repeatedly [and quite gently, I thought] counseled him in the wisdom of removing the bottom rocker but he would not do it.

One night, they un-gently did it for him.

As a biker, I looked forward to watching a biker-based series.
SOA sucks, IMO.

There is no there, there and the ‘reality factor’ is rather strained.

NatGeo just ran two specials, back to back on outlaw clubs.

They were two hours, well spent, even though everything was filtered through the lens of the feds ‘taking them out’.

Bikers are very cool.

But these freaks look like mindless lemmings. The American elite are way overboard in the follow the leader mentality these days. They are think alike, talk alike and dress alike. How embarassingly feeble and boring!
