Gov. Bobby Jindal Says Rush Limbaugh is a "Great Leader for Conservatives" - Video 3/2/09

Here is video of Gov. Bobby Jindal appearing last night on CNN's Larry King Live. King talked with Jindal about Obama's plans for the economy and the criticism Jindal has received for his GOP Response Speech last week. Jindal did a great job facing up to the criticism, admitting he is not as good a speaker as Obama, but his ideals and principles are right.

Jindal was predictably asked if he agreed with Rush Limbaugh about wanting President Obama to "fail," and he answered it perfectly! He affirmed Rush as a "great leader of conservatives," and said Rush is saying many of the things Americans are concerned about. He also said he is glad that Michael Steele "apologized" to for his remarks about Limbaugh. The portion of the interview related to Rush Limbaugh begins at the 5:50 mark of the video. . . . . . Sounds like he said all the right things, including trying to help smooth over Steele’s pratfall.

I hope to goodness Steele is one of those rare political birds able to actually learn from his mistakes.

He also said Obama is a great speaker, instead of telling the truth....that Obama is a great liar.

He is a poor speaker. He speaks like a numbed technocrat, flat, wonky, passionless.

I think he is and I really hope that Rush and Steele can overcome this and start openly working TOGETHER! The Obama administration WANTS to divide conservatives in the worst way. We need to be VERY aware of that fact!!

I may find Limbaugh distasteful on many points but I wouldn't say that.

At least Jindal shows us that he knows who to pick a fight with, which is more than I can say for Micheal Steele. His comments about Rush were beyond stupid, especially when you consider what Rush has done in terms of supporting Steele over the years.

This is Steele's non-apology apology to Rush:

"I respect Rush Limbaugh, he is a national conservative leader, and in no way do I want to diminish his voice," Steele said in a statement late Monday. "I'm sure that he and I will agree most of the time, but will probably disagree some as well, which is fine."

"The Democrats are doing everything they can to find ways to take people's attention off of their massive 36-billion-dollar-a-day spending spree that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have embarked on. To the extent that my remarks helped the Democrats in Washington to take the focus, even for one minute, off of their irresponsible expansion of government, I truly apologize."

This is not an apology to Rush for calling him an "entertainer" and his program "incendiary."

I don't think he should have to apologize for calling Rush an entertainer. Rush and Hannity have both long said that a strong portion of their job is to entertain.

While I agree with them on most all they say, neither is a philosopher or policymaker.

First, do you really think Steele apologized to Rush? I consider Rush to be just as much a political pundit as Fred Barnes, Carville, Blitzer, Coulter, etc. Calling him an entertainer is just a way to diminish the substance of what he says.

While I agree with them on most all they say, neither is a philosopher or policymaker.

Of course they are not policymakers. Who ever said they were? And who are today's political philosophers?

Did you think I meant Rush? Sorry, I meant Obama.
