There are lots of reasons to homeschool and this one is one of them. Imagine having to be told by the state when you can and can’t go on vacation.

Rental house rates at the beach or the lake are HALF before mid-May and after Labor Day. We’re planning our lake vacation the second week in September. Our oldest daughter is in college locally, but if she can’t cover her assignments online, she can drive into town for class.

We home school our youngest but our older daughter attends a public charter school and let me tell you we have never hesitated to take a vacation school or not.
