I fully agree and recognize the high standards expected of people posting on FR. I've already figured out a few things thanks to the suggestions of a few, thank you.
I take it very seriously to join into this forum and be a part of what I consider to be a group of knowledgeable citizens, more informed than the rest and in many cases probably myself included.
I am also anxious to do my part to contribute to electing good honest conservative candidates to office. I am a rarity in Western Flushington, a Republican PCO.
Over the years' I've spent a lot of time reading and getting information here on FR. There are a lot of others like me that have relied upon FR for the latest news and information. One of the greatest days I remember was when a Freeper destroyed Dan Rather, Mary Mapes, and the whole memo gate fabrication against President Bush.
That being said, next time, just determine if a person is a troll or not before calling them one and flaming them out of existence. There are probably a lot of people that would really like to post here and contribute and growth is good. I assume a troll is a person from DU or KOS pretending to be something they're not and trying to post views that are not compatible with what I consider the normal mind set on FR.
In conclusion, everyone on FR has had to get their first post out of the way at some point. This was mine and I will consider the bruising a badge of honor.
Now we can make money from the inaccuracies in the polls.

Just hope if you are as sincere as you come across, you not be too offended, and stick around. I think part of the problem is that some FReepers have become suspicious of newcomers because some liberal types sign up here looking for trouble.
At least you got that one nice response to your improperly-formatted post, and I'm sorry about the rest of it; I don't run it, but I thought they were pretty hard on you for a piddley thing for a newcomer, they could have said what they said in a nicer manner IMO. I've been piled on sometimes, try not to provoke it any more, you didn't cross any lines AFAIC, and if I get my feathers too ruffled, take timeout but always find myself coming back.
That was the short version? ... Good exposition of thoughts; glad you formatted with paragraphs. Welcome to FR, n00bie. [That’s the friendly way; ‘n00b’ is the unfriendly way.]
If it walks like a vanity and talks like a vanity ... it's a vanity
From the Posting Guidelines:
Do keep "vanity" posts to a minimum - Free Republic is primarily a place to discuss news, articles, and editorials. Vanity posts, creations of the poster him or herself, should meet a high standard of quality before one is even considered worthy of posting. Often a relevant current thread or general announcement, catch-all thread is a much better choice for a brief question or comment.
As the election cycle draws to a close the number of vanities like the one you posted has gone ballistic. The fact that it was a giant, paragraph-less blob only made it worse. ...
While, as you stated, your opinions are just as valid as mine ... posting them as a vanity is still bad form.

If you don't have any good contributions to help me make my next post better, then leave the matter to those who will help me and others like me to become better posters to FR.
That's what I was doing and, at the risk of being repetitive, my contribution is still ... stop posting vanities
I love that. That’s great.
If you think what happened to you now is bad, you would have run away, screaming during the early flame wars.
I just laught to myself and ingore trolls.
