With nothing but pigmy RINOs left in the race I’ll probably write Hunter in anyway.

I will as well, if need be. But this 4 headed monster needs to be slain.

Fred Thompson And Duncan Hunter
by Mike Huckabee
Jan. 22, 2008

Today, Senator Fred Thompson announced that he will no longer seek the Republican nomination for President. I wish Fred the best.

Fred’s decision, along with my friend Congressman Duncan Hunter’s departure from the race, narrows the presidential field. I want to thank these fine men for their contributions to the debate. Our Party, and our nation, depends upon the patriotism and dedication of men and women who get involved in the political process.

I commend Fred and Duncan for their focus on America’s role in the world. I share their absolute conviction that the first responsibility of government is to protect the American people. Our country must prevail in our fight against radical Islamics who want to destroy us.

As a pro-life, pro-lower tax conservative Republican, who believes in the Second amendment, I believe that one of the greatest ongoing threats to our constitutional republic is the politicization of the federal judiciary. The role of a judge is to interpret the law, not to legislate from the bench; as president, I will only appoint men and women who share this view.

As we move forward, I’d like to ask Fred’s supporters, and Duncan’s, to join our campaign. As a true authentic conservative, I have a vision to bring hope, opportunity and prosperity to all Americans, and I welcome their support.

Please share this blog post with your friends and family that are Duncan and Fred supporters. Please click here to email this to them.

Sung to Neil Diamond’s Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show

Brother Huck’s Travelin’ Salvation Show

Cold January night.......
And the propaganda’s hanging down
And conservatives on the ground feelin’ beat.
Move up the road to the outside of town
And the sound of that good liberal beat!

Sits a ragged governor
Where there ain’t no truth,
And that gospel group tellin’ you and me

It’s Huck, Brother Huck, say
Brother Huck’s Travelin’ Salvation Show!
Pack up anchor babies and grab the old ladies
And ev’ryone cries ‘cause everyone knows
Brother Huck’s lies.

Halle- Hallelujah......

Starting soft and slow
Like a small town hick
And when he lets go,
Half the country’s sick!

It’s Huck, Huck Love, say
Brother Huck’s Travelin’ Salvation Show!
Take an old wrestler , a ‘B’ movie hustler
And ev’ryone goes, ‘cause everyone knows
Brother Huck’s flam flam show.

Hallelujah!

I was just reading up on write-ins yesterday. There are about 7 or 8 states that don’t allow them. And there are about 33 or so that require any write-in candidate to have a petition with X number of signatures on it prior to the election to have their name counted.

I imagine that makes roughly 10 states that allow open write-ins. (I’m going by memory.)

I was surprised. I thought all states had to have open write-ins.

Our Michigan primary ballot contained a write in slot. Course our ballot also named Brownback and Tancredo as candidates.

I don’t know.

But, I do know that taking the conservative out of the race makes me mad as a wet hen and I will do everything possible to bring Hunter back on board.

Just remember, write in is not the same thing as 3rd party candidate. I will not vote for a 3rd party candidate; however; I am all for writing in and I believe enough people out there are so against John McCain; they would do this. Or participate in some viable method to bring Hunter back on board.

As much as I dislike the false belief that we have two party system, I do agree that 3rd party runs are political suicide. (at least right now)

I’ll see if I can find the article again and post it. It was from 2004 and maybe the Atl Monthly.

In any case, they drew a distinction between primaries and actual.

It’s in the actual that many states are not required to count write-ins of names not approved by submitting the proper number of petition signatures. I don’t think it was very many names, but it still had to be done.
