The comparison to McAulliffe is obscene.

"New Hampshire fairly crawled with candidates, so much so that at one point, McCain's three-bus caravan drove past Rep. Duncan Hunter of California, a long-shot Republican standing on a street corner with two other people waving to cars. His crowds are getting bigger already

The comparison with anything political to anything military is obscene.
Still, I love seeing the media toyed with, and it was a good way to generate attention.

I didn’t watch that game because I kinda like both teams. I’m a pro football guy, though. If it’s college, it’s Penn State or Notre Dame for me.

Go Duncan!!! This is a man who will stand up to America’s enemies, not in a snit, like Rudy would. Not grandstanding, like Huckabee.

Compared to what Hunter must have experienced in Vietnam, the campaign trail must seem like a cakewalk.
God bless you, Congressman Hunter!

True, Churchill is a better comparison
Only Hunter saw the need to slam our border shut....in the 1980s.
Only Hunter sees that the loss of manufacturing technology and prowess to a communist adversary is a path to ruin. As he says, “we trade, they prepare for war”
Only Hunter was shouting from the since Reagan retired that there can be no “peace dividend” when it comes to our military
Only Hunter is standing in the way of unfettered sales of dual use tecnology to our enemies.
Only Hunter completely rejects the idea of international treaties to address so-called global warming

We are amazed when someone stands against such great odds and defies his enemies to make him quit, refusing to change his principles.America LOVES to root for the underdog.

Thanks for the ping.
It is uncertain how long the congressman can battle, but he has made it clear that surrender is not an option at this point. This says much about the former Army Ranger—he will not quit. This also says much about Duncan Hunter’s message—there is no compromise. This alone separates him from the rest of the Republican field.
***Good writing.
He will not quit; there is no compromise.
