clearly punch-drunk
Do the happy dance.
I'm estatic!
"Put me in coach, I don't smoke!"
Thank you for your service.
I don't think the Dems will be as powerful as many around here think. They don't have a super majority in the Senate, and G.W. is still President for two more years.
Welcome to Free Republic.
No, really. Hope your enthusiasm is contagious.
I question the timing.
"They don't have a super majority in the Senate, and G.W. i
is still President for two more years."
Given that Bush has not used the veto pen for anything at all productive, what reasons might you have discovered which lead you to believe that Bush might start using the veto?
It's also time to work towards a Conservative Super-Majority in Congress
That scenario will be forever gone when the dems and Bush together craft the new immigration reform package and ram it right through so fast it will leave us in the dirt.
That will certainly skew the voting demographics forever, and may, in time, relegate the GOP to 2nd rate status.
However, I may be wrong - but we can't just not fight.
Nevertheless, I got your back on that idea. Lets roll.
You're a great example of what we have to do now. We've been licking our wounds. Fine. Now let's get back out there and work for our country. Let's not become like the bitter victims of Bush Derangement Syndrome, but rather work toward electing good conservatives in '08.
Hopefully, the lesson has been learned, or soon will be, that if we elect democrats, it pushes EVERYONE in government to the left. Duh. Those who sat this one out, voted third party, or voted democrat will get what they asked for -- a much more liberal government. For the time being anyway.
Now that they've gotten it out of their systems, let's clean house, demand integrity from our leaders and begin the '08 campaign.
THE WORLD COMES TO AN END!!!! REPUBLICANS HARDEST HIT!!!!
Every time one party gets thumped the other claims it as a victory for all time: 1964, 1984, 1994, 2004. Lately it was the permanent Republican majority. Now Morris is preclaiming the new permanent Democrat majority.
Well crap. For better or worst, the American electorate has a very short attention span. If Allen can lose over 'macaca' and such, what makes anyone thing that the Rats will be immune to the same fickleness?
When your headline relies upon one word for its impact, it's usually a good idea to know how to spell the word.
Since the President cannot run again and Cheney would be a poor candidate for President, Bush can stonewall all he wants with no harm to him.
Monday morning should start the new campaigns for each GOP office for 2008.
While the Dems get their footing, the GOP picks them apart unmercilessly. As the Dems move forward and get stalled by the Veto, the GOP solidifies their agenda.
And the GOP has the time and resources to find each possible scadal in the Dem congress and exploit it fully.
GOP candidates don't have to be saints or angels as Arnold proves. But they have to have some vision and fortitude and not be easily intimindated by the PC BS the Dems will use against them.

I'm almost sober.
Holy Jeez to the finger slip that forgot the "c". Call me a dumba$$.
I think we are a bit concerned that Pelosi and company are going to give illegals amnesty and do some sort of attempt at impeachment, which will be a big pain.
OTOH, as the "minority" party we (Republicans) will be the ones doing the sniping, which is a lot more fun to both do and observe. The Dimmies have been doing it for 12 years so we know how to do it.
If the President uses his veto power and the 49 republicans in the senate use their filibuster power, we'll survive.
