The release of the Fox News personnel brings up what I think is an interesting moral question. If you give in and 'convert' so you can get back to your family etc., are you violating your true faith?
I don't think anyone can say for sure what they would do under such prolonged duress and I wouldn't judge someone harshly for having a breaking point, but I hope I would resist even to death any effort to force me to deny my faith.
I started a poll on this at FreeDominon, and thought you might want to have a go at it too. There is no poll function here, so you can either register and vote there, or just post a reply here, or just think it over.
The Poll:
You have been kidnapped by radical Muslims who will torture and kill you unless you publicly convert to Islam and participate in a propaganda video with them. Do you intend to....
a) Refuse to convert to help them in any way, even to the point of death by beheading.
b) Resist for as long as you can, but when no rescue comes, go ahead and do it. Everyone (including God) knows you don't really mean it so it doesn't matter.
c) Resist as long as they don't hurt you too much, but when no rescue comes, go ahead and do it. You're not sure there is a God to offend so who cares.
d) Resist for as long as you can, but when no rescue comes, go ahead and do it. God will not be pleased, but you can repent later after you are back with your family.
e) Forget this 'resist as long as you can' stuff, just do it and get the heck out of there.
f) Resist for as long as you can, but when no rescue comes make the video but not 'convert'.
g) Resist for as long as you can, but when no rescue comes 'convert but refuse to make the video.
h) I'de be the one doing the kidnapping you infidel dog!
i) Other (post and explain)
a) resist totally, would be my choice, even with beheading.
I think I'd tell them what they want to hear to save my life, because when I get back to the 'States I'd have a golden opportunity to tell the world what a satanic nest of evil bastards Mad-Mo-the-ped-a-fo has created.

True, but if that's all it takes to get you to speak out against your beliefs, do you really have a lot of faith? Doesn't it kinda show that your highest loyalty is to yourself moreso than to your God?
I can't honestly say what I would do because it's unlikely that I'll ever be in that situation. However I wish there was a surefire way of tracking me. If there's no hope of rescue, target me with a JDAM and take the islamderthal animals out with me.
I would HOPE that I and ALL CHristians would chose A.
Human nature and the desire to live and see our families again says otherwise though.

Some say that we as a nation have have turned our back on the absolute and exclusive authority of Christ over our religion by allowing Congress to assume jurisdiction over the things that belong to God by making the law that put "In God We Trust" on the nation's currency. Some say that by merely using U. S. Currency we have converted to the religion of the Antichrist. I am not sure the argument is sound, but I can't find the fallacy. Can someone enlighten me?
It's easy to sit here in my air conditioned office and say that I'd spit in their eye and tell them to go to hell.
However, I know that in reality, I'd probably go along with it to save my skin. If I could think of some clever way to let people viewing the video that I was being coerced, I'd do that.
If I truly believed that they were going to kill me anyway, perhaps I'd do it differently.
Who knows? I don't think anyone really knows how they'll react to deadly circumstances until they've actually been through it.

Christ suffered a lot for each of us, and he could have freed himself at any time with ease.
A conversion to islam is the saying of the bismallah..."there is no god but (the islamic)allah..."

It's hard for any of us to say what we would do if we were in that situation. I certainly would not cast stones at the FNC reporters. I am not a theologian but I still think it's not a true conversion. If the Muslims have their way, we will all be faced with this decision at some point.

Would you want to live, knowing that you would have to face your Savior and explain how you denied Him with your own mouth? I wouldn't.
As opposed to those who think that what you say doesn't matter if your heart is right, I firmly believe what you say does matter.
