Sorry for the long assignment, but I thought this was a very good and interesting article. No need to apologise. There are many such as those i've pingged above whose FAITH determined their Libertarian views. While we would not be called "Randian" or "Objectivist", Libertarianism is, IMHO, the closest biblical view available.
Unfortunately, a good deal of the so-called "Religious Right" are simply authoritarian statists posing as Conservatives, and just as interested in controlling behaviour as are their Marxist/Socialist 'brethern'. Seems stupid to me when the church gets upset about sinners acting as, well, SINNERS. < /Well Duhhhhhhhhh!!!>

I don't think the "Religious Right" is as fanatical as most people would like to paint them to be. They are not interested in controlling or converting everyone, I think they are just tired of liberals trying to remove God from every little square inch of our country.
On the issue of gay marriage, they know that opening the doors and letting men marry men and women marry women would create a huge mess in which others would then want equal opportunity. You'd have a man wanting to marry two or three women, a woman wanting to marry an underage boy, etc. The institution of marriage would be a joke.
On abortion, many non-religious people recognize that life begins at conception, that life is sacred, and that it should be protected. If we don't have the right to life than what good are any other rights?
I'm tired of people insinuating that if you're a religious, God-fearing person that you're not able to participate in politics or voice your opinion. Running a country includes many moral responsibilities not just fiscal policies.
