This has been obvious to me for months - ever since the media suddenly stopped talking about casualties.
It was really funny (as in you know it used to be a talking point but won't fly anymore) on some news show someone parroted "over (pause) 2000 have died. He even looked a little embarrassed I guess because he couldn't crow 3000.
