My first question has to be ... What in the world is this man doing in a church?!?

And secondly, what kind of kool-aid are those people behind him drinking??

I don't want to have anything to do with Memphis - except for the barbecue.

Sure that's not a scene from James Brown's church in "The Blues Brothers"?

Are we really going to start telling people how to worship?

They're drinking in the Holy Spirit. You don't have to make fun of how people worship, even if their mayor is as crooked as a dog's hind leg.

"My first question has to be ... What in the world is this man doing in a church?!? "

My question is ... why not? They appear to be enjoying the occasion as is common in Black Southern churches. Are they (He) doing something illegal or immoral?

Hallelujah!!!

Seriously, religion should be an expression of joy, and this is one way to express it.

14And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

15So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

2 Samuel 6

Obviously, you have never been to this sort of church.

The man has been taken with the Holy Ghost, and he is dancing and shouting in the name of the Lord. It's his way of worshipping.

Don't worry, you're very safe. He won't bring his brand of religion anywhere near your church, and neither will his fellow worshippers.

I'm sorry ... can you yell a little louder from way up on that soap box? Us minions can't hear down at street level.

You obviously know very little of Herenton, but thank you for the lesson and the generalization.

"HAVE YOU SEEN THE LIGHT?"

All this church needed was Jake doing somersaults down the middle aisle, with the parishoners following suit.

Dr. Willie Herenton, Mayor of Memphis, Tennessee since 1991.

The very best place for sinners is inside the church. At least there they might catch a glimpse of redemption ...

The man has been taken with the Holy Ghost...

I seriously doubt that.
