"Paranoia strikes deep "

This is so funny! It's the song that always pops into my mind when I read the DUFUs. I think I posted before about this song reminding me of these DUmmies.

can eat away at one's soul... It exhausts the soul... But it can't break our soul...

Boy, they sure do like to talk about their "soul" - which is really funny considering they sold them to the devil a long time ago.

MIDI - CATCH THE WIND

We have lost, Bush has always won...I've come undone
I have troubles...where do I begin

The FReepers won't back off...they are taunting me...you all can see
Now in my car my dog's broken wind

My whole life is screwed, so screwed

It's sundown and it's getting cold...suddenly I cry...I want to die
When I get home, I'll down a fifth of gin

My party has been flushed...we're in disarray most every day
And now in my car my dog's broken wind

My whole d*mn life is screwed, so screwed

I'm really blue...he's our leader still...I've had my fill
And now in my car my dog's broken wind
Now in my car my dog's broken wind

True and they've never managed to grow up. What wastes of space they all are.

Love IS the answer.

UH . . . UHH . . . I'M HAVING FLASHBACKS!

Love is but the song we sing
And fear's the way we die
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry
Know the dove is on the wing
And you need not know why

C'mon people now
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try and love one another right now . . .

MAKE IT STOP!!!

I have been so swallowed up by the sins of this evil administration for the last 5 years,

How dare you use the word "sin!" How judgemental! What are you, a neocon fundie or something?

little did I realize that everything that was ever important to me was dying...

Well, let that be a lesson to you, you need to practice better personal hygiene.

I was drowning in a sea of bitterness, sarcasm, and cynicism surrounding me.

Translation: "I was logged onto DU..."

I started blubbering like an old fool...

Um...given DU's demographics and your choice of music, I'm pretty sure you are an old fool who was blubbering. Or perhaps even blubbery.

With tears in his eyes, the Pope kneels down and kisses the feet of St. Francis.

But at DU, if a Pope figures we shouldn't turn little babies into puree, they call him a Nazi. Nice work, kids.

I will NEVER allow this world to bring me back to that state of darkness. Love IS the answer.

So, this would mean you're leaving DU and coming to FR? Welcome to the light side of the Force.

It is very difficult for people of our country to love other people on this earth. Even though it is the Christian thing to do. Even though the great majority of their ancestors came from somewhere else on this earth.

Nice of this DUmmie to speak for all 290 million of us. If we hate everybody else so much, why are we letting them all come here?

When you learn about Saint Francis, you come to realize what a beautiful human being he was. A truely spiritual person.....a hero of his time, and it would be so good if he were a hero of our present time as well.

My butt...you people would call him a fundie and scream "Keep your rosary off my ovaries!"

I know exactly how you feel and I have been so full of despair these past 5 years. If you can get back to joy, that is wonderful. I have not found a way to do that, and our future seems so hopeless to me.

More proof that liberals live and die for political power and have nothing else in their lives. I can't recall ever feeling this way during the Clinton years. Oh, and I hear Wellbutrin is really good stuff, man.

In the 70's we all imagined the 21st century to be a bright, shining, hopeful place. It seemed like humanistic values, higher ideals, and a general tide towards goodness would emerge.

The Dawning of the Age of Aquarius...

Somethings happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear...

Yeah, what's happening is a lame reference by some hippie who has no clue.

The holidays/ holy-days are here, why not reach out to someone or something less fortunate? Adopt a kitten or pup. Bring food for an elderly person. Help feed a family in need? Volunteer your time and energy?

Or, you could just demand that the government do it for you.

Giving to others is a great way to reaffirm our dreams and ideals. It strikes a blow against materialism and corruption. It nourishes the soul.

And it feels almost as good as using government to force somebody else to do it, only through a bloated bureaucracy that victimizes the people who you're trying to help. Power to the people!

When the yoke of this present govenment finally is lifted from our necks, I'll remember those whom I met, and felt like I do, the good folks at DU.

What? There are good folks at DU? How would you know, when anything but full-on screaming freak-out hate is rewarded with Skinner hitting the ejection button?

I sometimes play Riki Tiki Tavi when I feel depressed and helpless.

And then I watch Ricki Lake and I get even more depressed.

The great majority of the DUmmies' ancestors came from somewhere else THAN the earth.

His words reminded me of time of purity in my life.

I suppose the "time of purity" in your life was the time you OD'ed and lay passed out naked in the mud at Woodstock for 2 days after the bands left. IIRC there was a lot of that going around back then.

I started blubbering like an old fool..

Well you know the old saying, there's no fool like an old hippy-dippy fool.

It must really suck big time to be an old draft-dodging, commie-loving 60's radical. All they have left is a dope-soaked brain, a worn out body, and a dim memory of lying passed out and naked in the mud at Woodstock for a day and a half after the bands packed their gear and left.

Wow! These songs were 15 years old by the time I got to high school. Hippies were already laughing stock by the 80's.

I thought they weren't supposed to trust anyone over 30. Now that they're old hippies, the old rules can be broken I guess.

Don't worry, PJ. I'm working my way through the DUFU first. I will spell no rhyme before its time.
