"hehehe. Bring on the lawsuits. Wilson is freaking out."

Lawsuits... hmmm.... as I said in another post above, maybe what's needed is for some very well-funded litigant(s) to take on Joe Wilson and force an extensive discovery process..... though unless Joe is dumb enough to sue someone for slander, etc. I don't know how the matter would get into civil court.

FYI, Joe Wilson's neighbor and personal lawyer, Christopher Wolf, has an interesting background which includes issues and institutions which intersect with some problems Free Republic has faced, from WaPo to online privacy and the "Electronic Communications Privacy Act".... wonder what Mr. Wolf would say about the legal status of the WaPo reporters in collusion with "MD4Bush" to misuse private email communications to create a (fraudulent) public scandal????

MSNBC calls Christopher Wolf "a pioneer in Internet law." And, indeed, Chris was involved in the earliest matters involving the Internet, helping to make new law for new technologies. He was trial counsel for the old MCI in a three-month-long jury trial involving a failed joint venture for Internet-related equipment, where MCI won a complete victory. He represented The Washington Post in a high-profile challenge to reporters' use of the Internet, winning summary judgment. He represented the recording industry in the first successful lawsuits against online piracy. And he was among the first lawyers to litigate domain name disputes, jurisdictional issues and the limits to online and e-mail marketing. A more recent case involved a trademark law challenge to the use of Google "adwords" for marketing purposes.

As the Internet matured, and personal privacy became an issue, Chris also was among the first to be involved in the new field of electronic privacy law. One notable case was the one in which Chris successfully challenged the U.S. Navy in federal court under the Electronic Communications Privacy Act for their improper contact with AOL. Today, he is called upon for advice, counsel and representation on privacy law matters including those under EU and foreign law, as well as federal statutes (such as COPPA and Gramm-Leach-Bliley) and the growing body of state law, especially in California. He has served as counsel for each of the U.S. airlines accused of privacy law violations arising from their cooperation on security matters.

Indicative of his standing as one of the country's leading Internet lawyers are the many opportunities Chris has had to speak and write on Internet and privacy law, including at Harvard and Stanford Law Schools, as an adjunct professor at the Washington & Lee University School of Law, on CLE panels such as PLI Institutes, at the Brookings Institution, at the Second Circuit Judicial Conference, at the Bar Association of the City of New York, and at international conferences in Sweden, France and Israel. Chris also is a regular commentator on NBC, CNN and MSNBC.

Chris is a 1980 magna cum laude, Order of the Coif graduate of the law school at Washington & Lee University, where he served on Law Review and was a Teaching Fellow. He graduated in 1976 cum laude from Bowdoin College and was a General Course participant at the London School of Economics & Political Science. He clerked for U.S. District Judge Aubrey E. Robinson, Jr. in Washington, DC.

So it appears Wilson has one slick lawyer working in his behalf. Problem is the L/MSM will not bring out the real Wilson to the public. He could end up going to jail and if the L/MSM don't show the country the truth in their eyes they will still think the POTUS took us to war on false intel, that he and his admin ordered up. That is the real crime.

Jim, I thought you might find it worth keeping an eye out for this guy in relation to any cases involving WaPo (past client of his), electronic privacy issues, MD4Bush, etc.

Joe Wilson's attorney and neighbor, Christopher Wolf, is said by his firm to be an expert on privacy law and the Internet who won a case for WaPo:

His firm appears to be Democratic, originally based in NY Democratic circles from the 1920s (though anti-FDR, at least with respect to Mr. Proskauer). Would be most interesting to know whether Mr. Wolf's connection to the Wilson/Pflame affair is really as accidental and casual as he portrays (see his USA Today column below) or if Wolf or any other members of his liberal firm have had a larger role to play behind the scenes........
