Joe Wilson fumes over Vallely charges in WND

WASHINGTON – Ambassador Joseph Wilson's attorney is demanding Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely retract a statement he made to WND that the man at the center of the CIA leak case "outed" his own wife as a CIA employee in conversations more than a year before her identity was revealed in a syndicated column.

I would think that the good General, who lost a son in Iraq, would have checked the appearance schedules to make sure about his recollections before putting them in writing. General Vallely has my trust and support on this one.

Joe's attorney, Christopher Wolf, is Joe's neighbor and "best friend". They moved there within months of each other about 1998 or 1999.

Wolf said he waved to Joe FROM HIS PORCH to come see Novak's July 12th article. The attorney said that was how Joe first found out about the article.

But it had hit the wire on the 11th and that's when Cooper called Rove and dropped his little "I heard his wife works for the CIA at the END of the welfare discussion.

What's out of order?: Late Tuesday, July 8th, a "friend" of Joe's was walking toward's Joe's Office down Pennsylvania Avenue. This "friend" approched Novak and asked him what he thought of Joe (out of the clear blue sky??????) Novak said: "Joe was an a**".

I'm thinking this "friend" used the same line as Cooper, i.e., I heard his wife works at the CIA." The "friend" continued to Joe's office and they wrote eveything down (like attorney's do).

Joe talked to Novak BEFORE the article, as late as the 10th. Joe didn't call the CIA? Are you telling me he didn't ask Wolf (his attorney) for advice before he called Novak. Bull!

I think the "friend" may turn out to be the attorney. (I wonder if they're in the same Office?) Joe and his attorney are both covered by attorney/client privileges. They can plot, plan and scheme until the cows come home and don't have to say snitch!

Why didn't ANYONE from the CIA, FBI, Dem Camp call Joe on the 11th when the story hit the wire.

Don't forget, the "BIG SECRET" which HAD TO BE KNOWN BY THE DEM CAMP was THE ANONYMOUS ENVOY" not who his wife was. That would "OF COURSE" come out.

I just learned that Russert's wife works for Vanity Fair. We're looking behind the wrong door. It's not the "anonymous source" question. It's the "spouse and/or attorney" privileges afforded by the court.

his GJ was just a big perjury trap for Libby and Rove. Between this story, and the andrea mitchell transcript - ....she was "out" way before this reached the white house. this is one reason why Fitz didn't indict on the "outing" charge (aside from the fact it did not occur) - the perjury and obstruction charges are nice and neat, compartmentalized, the trial doesn't have to go into all this stuff, it will just focus on what was said and when to the GJ.

Correct analysis. It will be Libby's loyyas' job to broaden the defense away from the scope of the indictment. And now you know why they don't have the GJ system in Britain. It's the court of the Star Chamber.

This loudmouth slut and her lying husband are reveling in their roles as the John and Mo Dean of our era. Scooter Libby = Gordon Liddy. Hope Vallely holds up. Too bad he can't challenge Wilson to a duel....?

"This is slanderous," Wilson wrote. "I never appeared on tv before at least July 2002 and only saw him maybe twice in the green room at FOX. Vallely is a retired general and this is a bald faced lie. Can we sue? This is not he said/she said, since I never laid eyes on him till several months after he alleges I spoke to him about my wife."
On Monday, I will also insist that the CIA ask DOJ to begin an investigation that Wilson, by naming his wife a "CIA desk officer," may have violated the five year limit protecting "covert agents" under the 1982 law.  Turn the matter over to Fitzgerald to resolve the ambiguities of memory.

Neighbors, people in your social groups and last but not least good/honest people who hate you and your wife will be standing in line to testify against you if this ever comes to a Kangaroo Court.

IANAL, but as far as I know, a "nolo contendre" plea can be treated by the court as if it were a guilty plea which would open Libby up to the full punishment for the offenses charged.
