Apparently, FReepers aren't the only ones expressing reservations about this nomination.

Not looking too good for Miers, is it?

Her hearings will determine her fate, imo. She must do well and articulate favorable policy/beliefs to be confirmed. Lacking a strong performance she may well be rejected..... We'll see.

But the polls in general I've seen indicate that the public knows very little of her thus the need for more info. I don't think that is looking bad for her but rather a challenge for her to step up to the plate and make the hit necessary to alleviate the lack of knowledge the public has.

Look at the second part of the question and even though many may not support her at the present time she has 41% saying she should be confirmed.... With the lack of public knowledge about her and endless yapping by the wingers that isn't a bad position to be in at this time of the game.

All that said it still resides in the hands of 51 Senators as to whether she'll be the next confirmed AJ or not.

Can the RNC be sued for Bait and Switch tactics or Truth in Advertising violations? Some who thought they voted for limited government, conservative judges and private solutions, have found instead bloated pork-barrel spending, "trust-me" (who knows?) judges, and a full retreat from Social Security reform, in its stead we have the proposed reform of posse comitatus. And that's after we "won" the Senate. Durst one wonder what would have happened had we "lost"?
