Now Dick Cheney and Halliburton are going to attempt to set up their military big easy down on what is the second most important port of our nation.
The Big Easy, the most alive, vibrant, jazz driven, sexually driven, swanky, lazy, beautiful towns is now gone because of these folks that knew this was coming, and who knows how much they knew.
Apparently they have known alot and have known it for some time now.
To make it more patriotic* they are allowing New Orleans residents who have been there for centuries and their families have been there for centuries to slowly die from heat stroke, lack of water, food as if they mean nothing.
The Big Easy is gone. Gone because of its own "terrorist attack". Im wondering if that has sunk in with very many of us. I know its difficult.

ATTN DU RESEARCHERS -- LIHOP/MIHOP evidence stacking up
It's time for everyone interested to get serious about documenting this. Some DUers think supplies and help were held up until Bush got there, but I strongly believe they just took advantage of the fact that they couldn't withhold help much longer, thanks to a media that was finally (FINALLY!) showing and telling some truth about what was going on in the world.
I believe that they withheld help for this long for the following reasons:
* As a test case or lab experiment for possible/planned future LIHOP/MIHOP events on the order of 9-11, tho probably radiological and/or biological/chemical. Always nice to be able to tweak your plans and approaches.
* As an opportunity to blame the victims -- something already institutionalized as the "corporate culture" of DHS and FEMA (after all, this administration has been at fault for conditions being worse than they needed to have been, so a little blaming the victims can help with that)
* As an opportunity to further blame the victims for their own deaths, by letting/causing the crisis to spin out of control so that social unrest and "lawlessness" reaches fever pitch and they get to:
- declare martial law
- have the rest of us CLAMORING, BEGGING for federal troops to restore order
- send in federal troops (the new Northern Command, or whatever it is)
- blur the distinction between civilian and military law enforcement
- maybe even get that pesky ole Posse Commitatus law discarded, at long last (the one that prevents military from domestic law enforcement)
- exert federal control via federal troops instead of state and local control over NG
And probably other things I'm not even thinking about. Please feel free to add your own.
And of course, the ever popular * Simple racism and classism -- who cares about the Little People?
So, I believe THE PHOTO OPS were simply opportunistic (or perhaps planned for anyway, but NOT the main reason for the delay in getting help there). "Okay, as long as we have to put up now, might as well look like heroes doing it."
Here are some threads that support my LIHOP/MIHOP theory -- PLEASE add others that come to your attention. Thank you.What follows is a list of about 30 or 40 links, mostly from DU itself, claiming that "any fool" could see that this was all intentional]
In the meantime, please also start documenting things -- not just in this thread, but saving key articles that may expire or disappear to your hard drive, etc.

Okay, apparenty I need to make it quite explicit that I'm not suggesting that the Bush Admin caused the hurricane. What I am quite sure that they caused is a massive, death-dealing, wholly unnecessary delay in getting help to hurricane victims especially in New Orleans, but possibly elsewhere as well.

There's plenty of complicity in the fact that funding for Corps of Engeineers projects, etc. was cut severely and withheld in other cases. But my main focus in this thread has been the more immediate matter of the response to the disaster itself, or the lack thereof. When you've got top tier naval officers taking the initiative on their own to send ships to the area (as just one example), you've got a problem that is more than mere incompetence, more than a matter of simple oversight or lack of communications or "no one thought about levees breaking or planes being flown into skyscrapers."

10. I think weather control techniques have advanced a lot since the cloud seeding for Woodstock.
You probably can't create a hurricane but at this time of year mother nature will do that no problem. All you need to do is nudge it an a particular direction.

more and how it indicates there is simply no question and/or doubt that advanced technology has the power to significantly affect climates, pressures and our weather.
It's important we look at the scientific technology out there and the evidence from top scientists that suggests weather can be manipulated. I am concerned that if people deny it will allow us to remain in a more vulnerable place.
Information is power. And we need to be open minded to what apparently appears to be factual information.

It is not about being a "tin hat" anymore. If anything,we have been in denial for far too long. It is hard to believe that any President of the United States would not get food and water to our citizens.
After what we were able to see with our own eyes, any reasonable person would know ALL these problems in Louisiana have not been "accidents."

There are people here at DU who think it is ridiculous to say they exist, but they do, I watch them on my way to work, and on my drive home. There are scientific papers on the internet about putting different kinds of metal salts up there (I think it's in the stratosphere, but I'm not sure) to: a) change the weather, particularly by pushing low pressure areas where you want them to go b) to use climate control as a weapon c) to bend radar (sorry I'm not being entirely technically accurate), or send extremely low frequencies to subs. They do some of this with the HAARP facility in Alaska, which absolutely does exist.

The whole story doesn't make sense from a normal perspective. Everytime something defies normal thinking patterns then it increases the likelyhood of a secondary agenda. Take 9/11. Take JFK. Take 7/7.
In a couple of months or maybe a year when the trauma has disappeared from the memory of New Orleans people are going to put the pieces together. Currently we don't know what has happened in New Orleans. In a couple of months when the water has dropped, the emotions have settled then we can start to say this story in perspective and the odds are it is a dirty story like so many others. Your post will be vital for that, so thank you
P.S. Don't allow yourself to be dragged down by people who don't want you to look at these things. They are already posting and they appear stronger, but in fact they are weak...

Why do you think so many of the NG went over to Iraq? We do still have men serving in the military, and NOT the NG, don't we? Or are the army and the marines completely tapped out of warm bodies?
So, the NG goes to Iraq and then a natural disaster happens. Guess what? Now, it's not your brothers and sisters and fathers and sons and so forth helping the community through their NG service; no: it is the military, taking over, treating it like a war zone (and they do consider it exactly that by likening it, in the armytimes article, to Somalia); nameless blank-stared men just returned from a combat zone overseas, in some cases, and therefore hair-triggered; men who are not community members, but rather stationed in a place that is not "home"; men who, their American citizenship notwithstanding, are about to treat as the enemy the very people they were sent to save.
IF they were, in fact, sent to save people, which I strongly doubt- and that means far more than simple incompetance.
It's not the community members helping them, it is the military containing them. All they need is one soldier killed. Worse, whoever does the deed just might take out their anger on the body. Desperate, starving, dying people are known to do some horrible things (and I do not intend that to be a judgement upon them).
