We don't need the vote of the illegals - they need a one way ride home. Sorry. Laws are laws.
While some illegals vote (particularly in California), most do not. I've got no problem with shipping illegals home, since they've broken the law. However, if strict policies for sending them back will cost us GOP votes from legal aliens, then I'd rather temper those policies. Other issues--such as abortion and gay marriage--are way more important to me than is the illegal immigration issue. Sorry.

The only percentages that matter are what percent are here legally vs. illegally. I defy the Republican officials to tell me that this party will continue to exist by trading our sovereignty for their pandering. Those of us who are watching this have stopped donating, and are becoming more active (as well as restless).
Essentially, "We the People" are getting fed the Hell up with the southern invasion. If the government doesn't do the job it is being paid to do with our taxes, we'll be forced to replace the people in our government with employees who are honest. Plain and simple, and it won't be pretty.

No, I'd have us temper some policies regarding our borders to ensure that innocent children aren't slaughtered in utero and that marriage remains the union of one man and one woman.
To: hispanichoosier
What the Hell does our border policy have to do with abortion or gay marriage? That's like changing the air in all of your car's tires because it won't start.

One did. CBG, I believe. The rest of the quislings are still onboard, and they have managed to enlist a few more for the pro-illegal alien cause.

Well, first of all, not securing our perimeter in time of war is just begging for a major attack. Osama himself could carry a nuclear bomb into this country on the back of a mule and we wouldn't know it 'til a couple million Americans were vaporized. Secondly, by not securing our borders and not enforcing immigration laws, we're destroying the ability of social services in border states to administer things like Emergency Room services. So those kids who are saved from abortions end up dying in a terrorist attack or in line waiting for a doctor. Let's deal with the external threats first, then focus in on our internal problems. We've been "tempering" our policies on the border for the last 30 years and it's gotten us nothing but more illegals pouring into the country.
Legal immigrants welcome; illegals need the boot now.

I don't understand the lack of logic used by them - and that includes the administration - on this issue. It seems so black and white.
Meanwhile, we've had a declared war on our citizens by our own government (WOsD), by Islamics (WOT), and now by Mexico. Top it off with the fact that the IRS has been proven in court to be illegal (the largest RICO class of criminals in history), and yet the sheep merely keep sleeping while the roar of the falls ahead grows ever louder.

It doesn't matter what illegal aliens think. They don't belong here, don't contribute more than their forced to (nor ever make up for more than they take out) and don't hesitate to get over on our system when they can. Listen to their heartrending stories, nod and ship 'em out. My taxes should go to needy citizens - never toward helping non-citizens gain benifits citizens have increasing difficulty attaining.

Your stats are way off.
There is a major dispute tween Rove's PR machine and most conservatives as to whether Hispanic votes for W increased in 2004 over 2000
And if you take legallly here Cubans (God love em) and professional class South and Central Americans out of the mix, then the rest ...which is the bulk and growing ....Hispanic vote is steady Dem and has changed little over the years.....Urban Mexicans, Valley Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans etc.
Ya'll can pillory me if you wish but the more European descended the latino, the greater chance to vote "R".
That is just how it's played out....and I was married to one and lived amongst them for years. Those that come here and go middle class or better quickly or who come from oppressive regimes tend to vote R. Those who don't and cluster in barrios urban or even semi-urban adopt the voting habits of those already there.
That is not true of all immigrants.....Vietnamese for example..
Lots of urban Irish Dems too btw.
Any group that comes here and is markedly different from the predominate group here is ripe to be segmented off by who they identify with. Some resist this. Most don't.
It's human nature everywhere I've seen.
Just because most latinos are catholic doesn't give me the hope it does you. This country is full of catholics who don't vote their faith....I think 04 was the first time since Reagan that Catholics voted majority R.

Actually, the numbers I got were from the Annenberg Election Survey, not Karl Rove.
And if you take legallly here Cubans (God love em) and professional class South and Central Americans out of the mix,
That's laughable. Why take Cubans and professional class South and Central Americans out of the mix? Does their Cuban-ness or professional class make them any less Hispanic?
Those who don't and cluster in barrios urban or even semi-urban adopt the voting habits of those already there.
This I can agree with. Due to factors such as patronage jobs, etc., many ethnic groups that migrate to urban centers end up voting Dem.
