It's a scam, like many others out there. They make people believe there are "secrets" or "techniques" to beating the market and getting rich quick. The truth is there is no such thing.
Hi, Joann...I did go to a 3-day $99 seminar in Denver last weekend. At first, I thought the program was excellent. But then I noticed that the seminar leader became a tad bit belligerant on the 3rd day. Evidently, some of the students were talking about other trading methods on our breaks. The seminar leader, "Kevin", got quite sarcastic and combative about it telling the class "if what you're doing is so successful, why are you sitting here in this seminar?". True...but if someone is a "professional" they wouldn't act so unprofessionally, would they? It was a tad bit "nazi-like", in my opinion.
Never did I think this might be a scam...until I searched the internet and found a few posts. Now, I'm thinking...hmmmmmm....it's a good thing I didn't have $30,000 to enroll. The other postings I read said that the guys at the back of the room were very rude to seminar participants. I didn't speak to those guys, so I don't know about that.
On a brighter note, attending the Star Trader seminar made me really look at my trading life and I enrolled in the mentor program with Winning on Wall Street. Winning on Wall Street is MUCH more affordable. Their website is: www.winningonwallstreet.com I met a lady about 2-3 years ago who highly recommended them and she was doing very well. With WOWS, you make all of your own educated trading decisions based on what you learn (technical analysis) in their classes and radio program. The software is by the month and is very affordable, too.
So, it will be interesting to see whether Star-Trader goes down in history as another scam artist/multi-level marketing/ponzi scheme, won't it? After all...I realized what they are doing. Targeting baby boomers with bucks in retirement funds, savings...and are skimming those funds. Pretty nasty if that is what they are up to.
I checked the Better Business Bureau and they have no record of them in Florida. Not sure how long they've been in business, but if they are a new co. they probably won't have a BBB record for a little while. It seems quite a few of the company's people live in Utah.
Hope this helps...Della
